This is a candid review of the Mantis Electric Tiller/Cultivator. I intentionally chose hard, packed soil just to see if this light weight machine could penetrate it. More here; mikesbackyardnu...

From one Mile to another, thank you! 😄 This really helped me see how well an electric tiller works on hard packed soil.

I bought this tiller , after watching your video . It is fantastic. A little POWER HOUSE . The gas one I bought was junk from the first time I used it . It just vibrated apart . It fell apart !!!

Just bought one! It was used once! 75 bucks! Bestest 75 bucks I ever freaking spent. It's so lightweight! I wanted to know how to lift the wheels! Perfecto! Great video and highly reccomend this little beast! Home depot gives it a five star. Get one while it's cheap! Made in America too! Pennsylvania. The company is totally awesome to work with. Even if it was bought 2nd hand. They were so helpful! ☆☆☆☆☆ stars!

Love the donkeys! I'm glad you described what the ground was like before you started. i have clay here, and gets hard as hell when it dries out.

I have clay soil, too; but "compacted" soil is not necessarily the same as clay soil -- or, worse, compacted clay soil. I would love to see a video comparison of different tillers (that a home gardener can easily handle) on dry, compacted, clay soil. THAT would get my attention!

Excellent video. Thank you. I just placed an order for it.

I like the idea of two speeds. I noticed that there is an extension cord holder so you don't lose the cord during use.

Love those donkeys! What kind are they and where can I get info about getting a couple. Also, good video. I was on the fence about gas vs electric, but I think this will do find for my raised garden beds. Thanks.

Not sure I like the idea of an electric cord hanging around. Think I'll stick with my petrol version and offset my carbon footprint in other ways. Great review though Mike, thanks for sharing. 😊👍👍👍👍

We have wet clay soil. Would it work on that?

I hate when my donkey gets his lips in the tines! Great review !

The donkey is so nice he wants to help give him a snack just for that

So how does it work on grassy hard clay?

Machine works nice too

Uhh...the extension cord isn't ideally attached. See that plastic thingie hanging off the right side of the handle? (0:08) Mantis put that there so the cord can be looped through and wouldn't be hanging down, as it is in this video (starting at 1:45). kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z2HXXqyprtyCjdk Good idea, though, to still bundle some up in your hand, if you can manage it -- anything to keep it as far from the tines as possible.

You need a diet man. Donkeys look slimmer and healthier. Eat vegetables, fish, vegetarian.

What's got to do with demonstrating a cultivator, idiot. Stop judging people for their looks. Nobody's is perfect.

@@ajb5114 you're right . Without the donkeys side-by-side I can't compare.
