I bought the 2017 Dodge Durango GT Blacktop RWD a few weeks go. It handles very well for a SUV. I love the sporty look of this vehicle and the price is much cheaper than comparable SUVs in this segment. It comes with remote start, remote start via a cell phone app, and other maintenance features. It has very good bluetooth, mobile wifi (for a fee), voice activated calling and other search features. I get 23.9 per gallon on the highway and 18 mpg in the city. The V6 is about 293 hp. I don't like the automatic shut-off mode on the new models. Apparently, it is used to reduced emissions and save about 1 mpg. You have to turn it off before starting your engine if you don't want to use it that feature. The daytime running lights are bright. However, the headlights have to be replaced. Dodge should have installed Xenon lights.

I recently rented a 17' Durango GT. Did a 3,300 mile road trip, and was very impressed with the vehicle. So much so, I'm considering purchasing one. My only gripe is the unavailability of the adaptive cruise control option in the GT trim. This is my one "MUST HAVE" feature. I'm forced to move up to the Citadel or the R/T trim to get that feature.

You can defiantly see the similarities in this Durango that are found in higher end FCA products. Just some things I've noticed, the uconnect screen is almost identical to ones in the Maseratis, the window switches and light control is the same too. Pretty neat, nice review as always!

I think I found that the Durango doesn't have posi or limited slip differentials. It uses traction control to help with one wheel spinning. I like the independent rear suspension though. I maintain my own cars and finding shop manuals for the 2017 Durango is extremely difficult. Any ideas?

Other than the 3rd row the Grand Cherokee should give you what Durango has. Jeep has the 4x4 system that Durango doesn't. I own a 2011, 2015, and 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Love them all, I have been driving them since 1993 and always will. What are your boxes.

The third row is a bit raised to give rear passengers that stadium seating hence a better view plus low third row seats cause your knees to be smack dab up in your face that makes the ride back there uncomfortable

Chuck I thought I would miss a CD player too but no way. I don't use the SD card but the USB stick instead. You can put hundreds of songs on the USB and can use the voice button to tell the vehicle what song you want to hear. If you own a computer or have access to one it is easy. Open youtube and type in the song you want to save, open a second window for MP3 converter. Paste the song title on the MP3 converter page and press download. you will then find the downloaded song under in your download folder. Last step is send it to your USB stick from the download folder and the song is ready to plug into your vehicles USB port and play anytime you want. Same steps for a SD card. But yes you can get a CD player if you want. they are mounted in the center console at the factory.

The 3rd row seats are a total waste of money for probably 80% of people. Most people don't have more than 3 kids which will fit in the 2nd row. 3rd row complete waste of money and waste of space too.
