Hi Mike, I agree about the gauge not working, it would annoy me as well. I am in Australia and just wanted to assure you there is a big following of the series Land Rover here.I have watched all your videos and found them very useful and interesting. we would like more videos in Australia please. Stay safe and hope the covid is not causing too much stress for you.

Thanks, Graham ! Glad you like the videos. I'll post more. You can also check out the articles related to the videos on my website - mikeshawtoday.com I'll post links below the videos eventually. Please subscribe to my YT channel too, so I can eventually do a live workshop on KZbin. You need a certain amount of subscribers to be allowed to do that. Thanks!

Hi could you please let me know where can I get that oil and temperature gauge for my series 3 land rover. Thank you
@Mikeshawtoday10 ай бұрын
I believe Rovers North has an assortment of these types of gauges.

Unfortunately if you have a rebuilt engine from a later Series truck with a new head, the otter switch may have been eliminated. This is my case and therefore my choke warning light doesn’t work. You can also get the cold start light working by upgrading to a series 3 choke cable which is a simple choke on/light on set up.

Yes. That's what I would do. Series 4 Choke cable.

Thanks for posting! Question for you… my entire gauge cluster doesn’t work - water temp, fuel, speedometer etc. I have a 1973 series 3 that was completely restored from the ground up in 2018. Any guesses where I should start?
@Mikeshawtoday Жыл бұрын
When you say your gauge cluster doesn't work, I assume you mean in terms of power to the cluster for lighting it up at night and for the electrically operated gauges. Your speedometer and oil pressure gauge, I assume do work mechanically. First, check the fuses. Next, make sure when you click the ignition switch one click, the green oil pressure light illuminates. That means you do have power going into that light bulb. If your fuses are all okay, you just have to go through the circuit tests for each item in the gauge cluster to test for power. If your headlights work, then the headlight switch in the gauge cluster has power, so it's just a matter of testing each non-working gauge to see if there is power to the gauge. Is there power to the bulb in each gauge when turning on the gauge lights? If so, you should be able to track each gauge's problem. Good luck. Hello, I have a 1977 Land Rover 2.25 Santana I want to order the same oil pressure /water gauge can you send a linc? I find your videos very helpful! George

Hi George - I got mine from Rovers North part No. ADG03 or ADG 04. They are in Vermont. You can call them. I hope this helps. Will be tricky to install, but worth it.

I really like watching Series Land Rovers, the modern stuff has absolutely no interest to me. And the new Defender will never be a real Land Rover, it has lost everything I love about the brand.
