You should go back and push those white clips in to lock the connectors to the injectors. If you don’t you will get some misfire or strange fueling problems due to vibrations moving the clips off of those injectors. Also best way to relieve the fuel pressure is to run it and pull out the fuse for the fuel pump and let it die on it’s own the run it again until it wouldn’t start. Less messy that way since all the fuel would be completely gone. Otherwise great video to show how it is done.

how'd it go

0:52 I did a video with the HPFP on the GXP, and the mfr recommended starting the engine and pulling the fuse to relieve pressure. Of course, there are hundreds of pounds on the 2.0L turbo, different than the 2.4 you have here. However, doing it that way would also evacuate fuel from the injectors.

Hmmm. That's a good idea. If I ever have to do it again, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks.

Question. Did you have to change the programming to accommodate the higher flow injectors? Thx for the vid, by the way. the Chevrolet manual says you have to remove the intake manifold. I said to myself, “surely not” that’s what brought me here.
@MikesHouseOfMods2 жыл бұрын
Hi Joseph. Thanks for watching my video. Yes, I did have to get a new tune once the injectors were installed. And as you saw...at least on my engine, the intake manifold didn't have to be removed. However, this is a rear wheel drive car so the engine in your Chevy (Cobalt I assume) may be transverse mounted so it may be different.

@@MikesHouseOfMods thanks for replying. I just completed the injector swap on a 2014 equinox and yes they’ve updated the design. Intake manifold DOES have to be removed. The spring retainers on the injectors are beasts. Not at all like the older design. Take care!

Mass air flow sensor try cleaning it. Maf cleaner spray and go easy with q tip on those fragile sensors. Make sure it's dry. Also do you get check engine light on?

When you replace your injectors, you should replace the plastic insulators and all the o-rings. They can be ordered as a kit. Used o-rings may not seat correctly, and this can cause a fuel leak or a vacuum leak.
@MikesHouseOfMods3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I actually replaced them again when I installed my turbo and at that time I did replace the insulators and o-rings. So far no leaks and lots of power :)
@davelivesay67113 жыл бұрын
@@MikesHouseOfMods I mentioned this because I thought I could get away with only replacing the o-rings that came with the new injectors, but my insulators came out when I pulled my injectors, just like yours did, and I didn't have the o-rings for the insulators. Shortly after I changed my injectors I started getting P0420 codes. I almost replaced my catalytic converter before I discovered this code can also be caused by a vacuum leak (and various other things), so I pulled the injectors again and found that one of the insulator o-rings had rolled out of its groove when I had pushed it back in. So I ordered the kit and replaced the insulators and o-rings, and the trouble codes stopped.

My broke butt didn't have the money to replace the injectors so i did the 9v mickey mouse service on my injectors with the carb cleaner around 100000 and just replace the o rings thats it. Now im around 119100 on the same oem injectors. But awesome vid

Thanks for the comment. I was actually doing an injector upgrade (went from 24# stock to 36#) because I also added a high-flow cat and new tune.

What's the 9v carb cleaner way?? I need to clean or replace mine.

That is a little bit of a pain to do. I hope it was worth it and you gained some performance.
@MikesHouseOfMods4 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I ended up doing it again when I added my turbo (installed larger injectors) and it took me less than half the time since I knew what I was doing and what to expect. Now that I look back (I shot this video a couple years ago), it wasn't all that bad.

Should never use oil on the o rings use gasoline instead
