Thank you so much for this clear, detailed video about peas. I love peas and sunflower microgreens so much, but they’re both the ones I have the most trouble with. I’m going to try switching to this technique for peas and see how it goes. I’m wondering if you already have a detailed video like this on sunflower microgreens, or if you would consider making one. I end up having a lot of mold problems or damping off happens and I lose half of my sunflower microgreens using the other methods I’ve tried. As always, thank you so much for all you share. You continue to inspire me so much! And I’m doing the thing! Which is so exciting and gratifying! Starting to feed myself and feed others too, and to inspire them to try it. It’s so cool!

I just watched this again and took notes because my first peas started to smell and I had to throw them out. I followed a different tutorial that said to spray them. I will be trying your method of rinsing them and them bottom watering instead next time.

@@KeepOnGrowin I purchased dried whole green peas from Azure Standard in a 5 pound bag. Their site says they can be used for sprouting.

So, you know I'm a bit of a slow walk on these things. Every time you grow some of these microgreens it is just so freaking impressive! I still think I like the sand idea the best. This just looks so freaking easy though!

Very informative Mike, I learn from you practically every video, you put out. I'm going to order these growers, through your link, this weekend. By the way, who do you order your pea shoots from?. There are so many choices. Thanks again, take care and God bless.

Amazing video Mike! You're the best! I usually use hemp mats as my grow medium but sometimes the water can get a little smelly if I dont change the it (I use a self watering wick system) do you know why this is?

Pretty much any water that sits with organic matter in it will start to get funky.

Thanks Mike! This looks like a great idea for pea sprouts, but I'm guessing that smaller seeds like radish or broccoli would fall through the holes. What could we use for the smaller seeds?
@emmasurf8109Ай бұрын
He probably has a better idea but I use a mason jar with a square of muslin cloth over top and rinse and drain 2x a day. You don't get the nice uniform look because t your shaking them up but they sprout properly.
@KeepOnGrowinАй бұрын
Radish are big enough and I am testing kale now.
@thecrowuknowАй бұрын
I have the same containers and the instructions that came with them said to use paper towel if the seeds were smaller than the holes. I haven't tried it though as I've only sprouted mung beans so far.

do you add water to the bottom tray or is that water what has dripped off of the top tray

When the roots get long enough, you stop rinsing and just bottom water

Why do you need to wash the 2nd day tray & add water to the bottom tray? It should not be different than growing beansprout; top drain to bottom.
@KeepOnGrowinАй бұрын
I only add to the bottom when the roots can reach. I do empty and clean it every day, less chance of funky stuff.
