Many memories when I lived in Edinburg Texas back in 1975 now reside in California but still have family all over the Rio Grande Valley since we back since 1800’s we have a private cemetery in El Azadon, Texas near La Villa Texas. Miss those days but now it is very different so many families from Mexico nothing bad towards them but it was safer back then we could leave our doors unlocked not anymore. Our legends will be gone before we now it. I have 500 cd’s of all our legends I will leave them to our son.

I was raced in the barrios. Conjunto music everywhere. Cantinas in every corner. On my way to store I would peek and see the couples dancing to great music My grandfather always had the radio on to this music and even our Dr. The famous Dr Hector Garcia had the radio in his office playing to this music. It's in our blood and I love it. Especially when you're dancing with a good dancer. Cheek to cheek! 😂❤

My dad, Ismael Gonzalez was/ is puro Tejano, born & raised in Harlingen TX. My mom told me of how when he went back home to Texas. he went to a concert and the Hometown Boys were playing. She told me how The Hometown Boys made his day/ life when he was welcomed to hang out with the group. Thank you for your understanding of my dad battling with Parkinson’s and dementia. Mi a’pa came back to AZ talking about his experience, the excitement on his face and eyes said it all. Showing me a picture the band autographed for him, that he hung in his party shed in the backyard of his house. (a treasured memory). Still there today 3yrs after his passing. It is even more special today, as it was that day when the group gave it to him. Gracias a Dios, that he was able to meet such a wonderful group of guys to make him feel special.

So many memories in one mix... so many flashbacks... to a time that was much simpler, happy, and above all... filled with love. This takes me back to my childhood in Donna, TX where all family gatherings had 4 things in common (at least for us) good music (tejano, conjunto, norteño) good food, beer and Love. How I wish I could turn back the hands of time. As for now its 2021 and now I'm the one playing these songs for future generations to apreciate. May this music live on lang after we are gone. only the best conjunto from texas ,went to see them a few months ago ,and they're awesome !!!! very down to earth all of them ,very aprochable.
