I'm living in the US and started following this channel since Ligaya and enjoy watching to learn the Filiipino culture, and enjoy the food & travel vids. I was raised in the US since I was 2 months. My parents are from Nicaragua,(dad) and Dominican Republic (mom). My mom spoke to us in Spanish and my father spoke to us in English. It got to the point where I spoke more English at home. However, as an adult I try to speak as much Spanish as I can (mostly to my coworkers) since my parents are deceased now. I also took Portuguese years ago and I have been taking french for over 3 years now so knowing other languages is an interest of mine

Since your side entrance is your defacto main entrance, you should probably consider putting up a pergola that covers the path from the doorway to the driveway so that when there's heavy rain you can walk without getting too wet, in fact you might as well integrate the pergola into a mini carport that covers the middle section of your driveway so that you don't need to worry about the rain like you did in this vlog.

You can! When I was 26, I had no job (I was a singer with no gigs), I dropped out of university, and I was in loads of debt. I was invited by an older millionaire couple to join them at a chalet mansion by the lake that they owned, and as we sailed on their yaught I looked at their mansion in awe and said "Man, I could never have this!" to which the husband said "Yes, you can!" He believed in me even if I couldn't see any possible way to achieve it back then. So, from where I stand today, to you I also say "Yes, you can!"

You have your mom's inquisitive or curiosity mind and loves to comment on everything, don't get offended. I am not surprised if she'll fill all your drawers and cabinets with things. That's our "gigil" state of mind. We don't like to see them empty. Lol. As per your dad, you got his sense of humor.

Hello Bustos family, you asked us to tell where we listen from. I am from the Midwest USA. My grandparents talked low German to each other but not so much to their kids and grandkids. So now as an older adult I am learning German and one of my sons too. We want to be better connected to our heritage. You ask about the Christmas tree. We leave ours up at least until the 12th day of Christmas which is called epiphany, January 6th. Epiphany celebrates the coming of the wise men. I agree with your mom about this steps. There needs to be enough room for a person's whole shoe and a little more to fit on the top of the step. You asked about something else too but I forget now what it was. So glad to see you enjoying your family visit. Take care God bless Gloria 🐂

I can relate. I was born in Manila and Tagalog was my native language until my family moved to the States when I was 9yrs old. We had to learn English and it was the only language spoken in our household. As an adult, I can understand some words. I always feel ashamed and embarrassed when I’m around other Filipinos because I can’t carry a conversation. So yes Mikey, I really appreciate your blogs in English, but a little mix of Filipino/Tagalog would be great too since I’m trying to learn. I can’t wait for my trip to the Philippines this June and learned so much from your blogs of different places to see.

This is a super cool vlog!! Moms are so cool when it comes to setting up a home; she'll get the Mabuhay Squad Farm House squared away, LOL (RJ is such a great sport letting her do all this). I love seeing how the dogs have adopted their grandparents; it's the best. I surely respect speakers of languages other than English. I'm from the USA and only had English spoken in my home (although my parents sent me to a Spanish-speaking Kindergarten, dunno why). I'm grateful that the vlogs are in English. Welcome to Melody!!! Good luck to you!!! Designs on the Aviary windows... I really like the soap drawings on the glass. I like the idea of musical notations (staff, bars, notes, etc.) that your Dad mentioned. Your Studio is really coming along; I'm excited for you to get that legit recording booth in place. Of course, families have challenges; that's what makes them family. I think you're 100% right; the "stuff" is really no one's business, and outsiders can't really understand what's going on. There's so much context and years' worth of being together that goes into a family that people would never understand. What is clear is that you love your parents, and they love you both (and they're very proud of you). Mikey, you're just glowing with your parents there. Big hug to the family. Ya'll stay safe, and I'll see ya next time.

I am a Filipino, migrated to Australia, when my kids were little, I taught them how to speak Tagalog but when they started school, they slowly forgot to speak the language. My children are now grown-ups, all finished University and now again trying to learn Tagalog. You have an international audience, and English is a universal language, the only language that everyone, wherever they are/live they can understand the English language. Filipinos are good in English language, it is actually considered our second language. I don't see anything wrong about you speaking English in your Vlogs. The most important thing is you were brought up by your parents with the good Filipino values. Napakabuti mong anak. Another thing I admire about you is you have high regards about the great skills of the Filipino designers. Your house and the furnitures you put inside it is a living testament to it. Keep up the good work I love your house. It's beautiful. It is my kind of Architecture.❤❤❤

I did not see one piece of machinery, digging up that swimming pool construction would be so much faster if you guys had cranes and bulldozers and diggers having that to do all the heavy lifting would make things so much faster. Also, Mikey in that house of yours with that many floor space you’re gonna need those automatic mop or is that can do a bunch of square feet of the time it would take a team of like 20 to do all that by hand. You may have to get one of those self propelled industrial auto floor scrubber. These have a 2 feet cleaning diameter pads. Just to do all your floors. Did you ever install a small elevator in the Squad house?

Watching from NJ and our son at 14 is just learning to speak Tagalog. Majority of Filipinos speak English anyway so that’s fine that you speak it in your vlogs. I love that you’re in tune with your Filipino roots. Congrats on your new amazing home.

I'm a french Canadian from Montreal! It's so nice and wholesome to see you reunited with your parents and I've missed the dad jokes of the day :)

I know that hand-carved pillar would be dusty and of course Mommy Cris saw it and was cleaning it. 🙂 Love the wallpaper in the green room. It's perfect!
