We Got A New Art Piece | Vlog

Thank you so much for including my work in your collection Mikey and RJ! Once again, I am truly honored. To add up, When creating this piece, my main inspiration came from the textures found in nature. I wanted to create a piece that would take viewers on a journey through time, imagining what the future might hold. The idea of a fossil of the future came to mind - something that would symbolize and remember the positive values of Filipino culture and their impact on the community. That's where the Anahaw leaf came into play - it's a symbol that represents strength, loyalty, and achievement in the Philippines. By featuring it prominently in my artwork, I wanted to showcase those values in a unique and memorable way. We are now in the modern era. For me, being a modern Filipino doesn't mean abandoning our values. Rather, it's about enhancing the positive values we already have and focusing on our unique qualities that can make a positive impact on future generations. And I hope that my artwork can serve as a reminder of the importance of the positive Filipino values in our community. I chose to execute the piece in an abstract style. People still have the freedom to interpret it in their own way. :) Once again Thank you so much! 🤍☺️🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

You're right Mikey, why would you be bored in your own house. People have different preferences. As long as you do a lot at home and are entertained by your pets, I don't think you will be bored. Me, I just relax more at home while working an online job. The benefits of a home buddy, you can do whatever you want, with no fuss, no pressure, and stress, and you can exercise as much as you want and enjoy your yard.

I only have a small home and live alone, and I rarely get bored or lonely! Now I do work 4 days a week, but in my three day weekend I spend time with my animals and just chilling out. Most of my friends I have contact with online, and I enjoy that just fine. About once a month or every two months I drive around visiting friends and dropping off and picking up rodents for my breeding projects. But most days I’m on my own with my pets and I like that just fine! Would be nice to share my life with a special someone, and I’m sending that feeling into the universe right now ;) but it’s not a “must” for me.

Hi Mikey and RJ. The house, especially the sunken garden gets lovelier with each vlog. Congratulations! As you mentioned, it is the best move for you to hire an agricultural consultant so you won't waste time, money and effort in developing your side lot. I remember when you visited Ms. Angie King's farm in Caliraya and got so inspired by her. Maybe she can help you or introduce you to the right people. She has been making so much progress on improving her tower farm by building a huge screenhouse to deter all insect pests. She's also planting vegetables using hugelkultur (raised garden beds). The wild bird on the tree is stunning. Perhaps you can install bird feeders and bird baths around the yard so you can attract more of them.

OH WOW! What an awesome vlog! It was so great to see the Matsuyamas again! They’re just a super cool family! Wow! Erin is really growing up. I’m so excited for that 50th Anniversary bottle of Club 33 wine. I’m cracking up at “Illuminati of Disney”, LMAO!! I’m totally “Fan Girling” over that LeCreuset pot!! That is an iconic piece of the cast iron collection and, so useful! I’m so happy you have this! I have tons of the cast iron and love, love, love it! It’s the very best cast iron in the world, very sosyal, LOL! Now, the big question… if you are to get more cast iron, would you want it all one color or, would you want all different colors for your collection. ;) I agree, Japanese deserts are truly the best. Mochi is one of my favorite things (it’s not good for me but, it’s a treat sometimes). I especially love the Gelato Mochi. Ya know, there really is no place like home. Especially these days, home (at least for me) is my fortress of solitude. I love that you kept those feathers. I believe we do need things like that to help us remember. I’ve noticed Mikey, your jewelry game has really stepped up. For me, I would take a few of the Ligaya feathers and have beautiful diamond made from them and have that diamond mounted in a ring so she could be with me all the time. There are companies that do that. Okay, that art piece is simply incredible! It’s beautiful. I love the concept, I love how it matches the color and, more importantly, the vibe of your home and, even your hearts. It really makes that room and its whole providence is so appropriate. Ya’ll have really become full on art aficionados. Giving so much support to Filipino Artists really speaks to what ya’ll are about. I’m so incredibly impressed. I don’t want to sound irreverent but, the shape of the piece reminds me of a PacMan ghost, LOL. I can’t wait to see what’s next. My heart is overflowing with joy watching all this evolve. Can I offer a suggestion, take a photo of the COA and receipts. Just in case something should happen to the originals. When collecting art at this level, it’s important to have these papers. I love love love my chickens. They bring me so much joy. Culling the flock is a necessary part aside from raising as meat birds. Can't get a more delicious, tender, healthy piece of chicken and if you treat them well their whole life the last minute of their life is okay. Its hard but give them a good life and thats better than most lives of meat chickens. Plus when you raise them yourself then harvest it gives you a new appreciation to their life than if you just buy in market and someone else does the dirty work. Helped me be less wasteful and more mindful.

I believe that if you set up nest boxes around the property, only a few species of birds would choose to nest within, since most of the birds here tend to build their own nests out of materials they collect; the nest boxes could still make good shelter for other smaller animals in the property though, like lizards and small snakes. If there are Chestnut Munias in the property, they might choose to nest in the boxes, as well as the Eurasian Tree Sparrows. Collared Kingfishers might choose to nest in the boxes if it is big enough for them as they nest in tree holes or abandoned woodpecker nests although they will also excavate nests in termite mounds or the sides of dried up rivers and creeks.

Oh, how I hope kingfishers nest in the boxes. Yeah, I am certain the sparrows will use them, as they used every little nook and cranny if the house as it was being built.

@@MikeyBustosVLOGS you can situate the nest boxes on the trunks of the trees by the creek or on the other larger trees in the property to see if the kingfishers will be enticed to nest within. Alternatively a big enough nest box might entice small-sized owls like the Scops Owl to nest within, as I remember that you mentioning in one of the old vlog episodes that a Scops Owl was found by the workers in the property when the house was being built. Coppersmith Barbets might also nest in a nest box.
