I absolutely am on board with your teach someone how to fish philosophy...on the other hand..one can sure get hungry while learning how to fish!! How about one tutorial for the immediate needs? This one looks great! Either way ..thank you for all you share:)

Than you so much for this lesson. I had a project with type of concept and stopped as I got totally confused. Once I finished another project I am going back to it. Thank you for helping me build my crochet skills.

Thank you so much for this educational video! I have never tried filet crochet but always admired it. I will definitely be giving it a try. Thanks so much for breaking it down.

Thank you for the time spent in teaching! I have learned so much and I really hope people will understand that your "learning to fish" concept is great for expanding our crochet skills for any project. I have been using your tutorials to go from needing a pattern to being able to execute many original designs. Love your in depth teaching!

I'm making my first filet crochet design in a brontosaurus. It's so cool! Thank you Mikey! ❤️

Great info clearly explained. I love filet crochet. Haven’t made any since 1981 but you’ve inspired me to take it up again. My first go was a pullover “chemise” with a spray of roses across the chest and finished with tiny scalloped edge. All in size 10 thread and steel hook. I was an over achiever back then. Lol. Never thought to use yarn! Neat idea. Thanks, Mikey 💕

Thank you for this tutorial 💕 I am so thankful that you explained it the way you did, because like you said I can apply this knowledge to other patterns as well. Lots of love and yarny hugs 💗

Thank you for this! I’ve been looking at some of my grandma’s filet crochet projects from the 50s and was itching to learn how to do it!

That’s some helpful information🥰 I might just learn to do this with all your help and infor😁 Thank you for all these wonderful tutorials and patterns and crochet alongs. I got the sunny ombré today but I don’t know about the seaside or light blue. Can’t find any but not to fear I’ll do another color scheme.😉 I’m going to get the other someday. The sunny makes me happy 🌞 oh I loved the one you previously did too. I missed it but it’s beautiful. I did some heart filet blocks but it’s not put together yet. I forgot I had them until I found them in a box🙄 I really like the filets. That butterfly shawl is beautiful and would be an awesome gift for someone 😍

I made the butterfly shawl not realizing there was a tutorial on filet. It turned out beautifully. I used double thread size 10. I think I used a 2.5 or 2 mm hook.

Yes, about the fish, but I also just enjoy less mindful crochet along so much more some days. I opened this one, hoping, but again, just "how to fish". 😞 Why are you putting all these different filet patterns up, then? You are greatly appreciated, 💕loved, even 💕, for all you do.

Can you do a tutorial on a filet shawl? I have a dragon pattern that I'm yet to try. This was very helpful. Thank you!
@MsLindaluu2 жыл бұрын
I feel like at least if there's something unique about the pattern or some odd pain points a quick go over if the individual pattern would be nice. Posting the same video over and over again seems a bit misleading. I click the video every time because the project in the thumbnail looks interesting but there's nothing in the video about the pattern or if there is it isn't clear which part it is. I think I've seen the tutorial for filet crochet more than five times and I have it bookmarked for reference. A link to it in the description and a quick walk through of the thumbnail pattern might be a bit more useful.

Right in beginning Mikey explains this video is to teach the basics, the techniques and how-2s of Filet crochet. Now you are armed with understanding and can spread your wings to create any pattern or design of your choice! Great vid. HTHs

My goal is to give you the tools to show you how to read these diagrams. There are so many patterns that use this concept with the graphing and once you understand the graphs, any pattern can be done. I'm sorry you felt I mislead you. I did try to explain my goal was the basics of reading the diagrams. It may have been a mistake to teach it that way. Thank you for the input.

Thank you for your video's I have learnt so much from them. I love the butterfly shawl you have linked and have downloaded the pattern. The Filet crochetering part I totally get as this video explains very clearly, however on the shawl pattern, I am struggling to grasp the blocking part, is it possible you could do a video to show this with this Butterfly Shawl, to get us started? Many thanks in advance.

I love your videos and i hope you are feeling better but i have tried and tried to make this shawl. I don't know what i am doing wrong if you could give me a break down of how many stitches in a few rows maybe i will find out what I am doing wrong. This is my first filet crochet project I am doing.

The butterfly shawl is giving me some trouble. It’s the beginning and ending blocks that were confusing for me, but I think I have it now. I did the Bunny blanket and the Dinosaur blanket with just a little trouble, but I did get them done. For one thing I am a lefty. It can get really confusing trying to see this all backwards and turning it around in my head. I really love the ending product. I hope my expecting Nieces do too.
