I'm looking forward to this blanket. I always love working with Chunky yarn in the winter. I am going to have to find a UK equivalent yarn as it is really expensive to buy Bernat here in Northern Ireland. Hopefully I will be able to find something soon. I am needing a few more blankets and throws. Especially as Northern Irish winters are so cold. They are perfect to snuggle up under in the winter whilst watching Netflix and hooking. Have you ever looked at the HUGE yarn on wish.com? That stuff that looks like it's as big as a child arm? Well that stuff is the same size as the yarn Mikey is using. The balls are much smaller but I've gotten it free with $1 US dollar for shipping . If you can find it where you just pay for shipping then if you buy 6-7 of them that is about what we pay here in the states for the size ball used in this video.....so you could get soft chunky yarn for a reasonable price. 😊(I hope that makes sense )

Hi, did you find some yarn for this... I am currently using the yarn that ALDI do which is the same thickness but they only do their yarn every 2/3 months, you can order online too but only when they have it in stock

So Mike does that mean the higher the hook the more material or does it work out the same ? And the same if you need a smaller hook would you need less yarn ?

Hello! Looking hi and low for a travel trailer crocheted blanket. Made of squares of diff colored and decorated travel trailers. Any knowledge of such?? Love the metal hooks but find the larger sizes are generally in plastic. Can you share what brand of crochet hook you are using?

I use a Size 10 metal hook with purple rubber handle. It came in a full set of Boye hooks, ergonomic handles.

I do not mind chunky yarn just not blaket yarn. It just not move that easy for me.

Nothing is coming out right on this. I'm ready to throw my hook across the room. It's chain 3 and then two double together. Then 17 double crochet in each of the next 17. Then 5 in the middle. Then 8 down the other side. Then 5 together. I've done this three times checking my counts. And coming down I've only got seven before I get to the five together. I'm about to throw the whole project in the trash.

I finally stopped using the visual and just went with the counts. The blanket is coming along nicely now.
