His views on Putin changed over the years. In the beginning, even many former Soviet dissident like Alexander Solzhenitsyn supported Putin he was generally popular before 2007. In later years, he became a Putin critic when he would not leave office. In one of the last interviews he gave he said Russia was governed by thieves, which is an accurate description. Gorbachev had all the traits that Putin despises in politicians. He was an educated intellectual which Putin is not.

I'd like to hear his views now if he was still alive and what's clearly and obvious to see in all this and inside Russia.

Putin hated him. See his reaction when Gorby died. Putin, like Erdogan, changed suddenly post-2008. They grew bold and felt unrestrained. The consequences are clear.

Whats obvious exactly? He always supported Putin because he saved Russia from becoming your Western gas colony. Of course the anglo-saxons like you are mad about that, you want colonies.

@@RN-lo6xc It is funny that after 2014 Gorbachev almost disappeared from the Western media, because he supported Putin's hard line on the coup d'état in Ukraine, on Crimea, on the expansion of NATO around Russia. Gorbachev was very toxic for Putin, Gorbachev and Yeltsin are hated and despised by the Russian people, especially Gorbachev, Yeltsin at least had 1 good did to give the country to Putin. Putin just repeatedly spoke about Gorbachev, given the toxicity of Gorby, quite favorably, as well as about Yeltsin, except that he did not go to the funeral, and to the last provided Gorbachev with lifetime protection, and many other benefits as a former president. And he defended, in interviews, did say, that Gorbach and Yeltsin were in a difficult situation. Well, yes, to give away a lot of Russian land, collected by ancestors for 1000 years, without any guarantee of security from the West, and to liberate half of Europe, for which millions of lives had to be laid down destroying the cream of the crop and the main parts of the Wehrmacht, which led to a lot of local conflicts on the territory of the former USSR and Russian Empire after 1991, and Russian people fiercely believe that the main culprit here is "good" Gorbachev, who gave away the country for the money of Western funds and doomed his descendants to a lot of local wars and with NATO, which started to surround Russia from 1991.
