Mikis Theodorakis was born on July 29,1925 in Chios Greece. He was credited with over 1000 musical and lyrical works. He scored films “Zorba The Greek” Z and Serpico and was a three-time Bafta nominee and winning one Bafta award for Z. He earned three Grammy nominations for the movie Serpico. He composed the Mauthausen Trilogy which is described as the most beautiful work every written for the Holocaust. He was awarded the Lenin Peace Prize. Theodorakis died on Sept 2, 2021.

Ο Μίκης Θεοδωράκης γεννήθηκε στις 29 Ιουλίου 1925 στη Χίο. Του πιστώθηκαν πάνω από 1000 μουσικά και λυρικά έργα. Σκόραρε τις ταινίες "Zorba The Greek" Z και Serpico και ήταν τρεις φορές υποψήφιος για Bafta και κέρδισε ένα βραβείο Bafta για το Z. Κέρδισε τρεις υποψηφιότητες για Grammy για την ταινία Serpico. Συνέθεσε την Τριλογία του Μαουτχάουζεν που περιγράφεται ως το πιο όμορφο έργο κάθε γραμμένο για το Ολοκαύτωμα. Του απονεμήθηκε το Βραβείο Ειρήνης Λένιν. Ο Θεοδωράκης πέθανε στις 2 Σεπτεμβρίου 2021.
