She had enormous talent, wonderful training, a supportive family and everything needed to be a young, world class ballet dancer, but..she wanted to be a doctor! I have watched her videos for years, so impressed by her performances, and her very early mastery of the art of ballet at a young age. I hope Medicine and Surgery bring her as much satisfaction.

She’s in school for podiatry. A little different. But she will be trained surgically and can help a lot of dancers and athletes, I hope.

And if you watch first position, her mother was way too helicopter. The pressure was probably immense. Her mother was literally living out dance through her kids. She’d restrict her diet, etc etc.

The crowd needs to learn more about ballet if they think only the lifts deserve applause. The lift is probably the easiest part.
