I have loved Miko Hughes throughout the late 80s with Pet Sematary through when he was on Kindergarten cop, Full House and loved him in Wes Craven's New Nightmare. It's nice to see you guys got to interview him. He looks almost the same just taller and attractive.

He was good in those, plus Mercury Rising. Full House, he was kinda annoying, but everything else he was 👍🏻.

They switched Gage Creed with Ellie Creed, probably because they couldn’t find a two year old boy that has an acting prowess like Miko Hughes at that time?

Loved the original pet sematary's, super excited to see the new one, i think the way the original was done was perfect. Gage was so adorable and I remember being little and seeing it for the first time and being absolutely terrified that a cute little boy was murdering people, i mean he looked like chucky when he had his angry face goin, guess its easy to laugh at now but i still love the oldies lol and its awesome to see that this guy has such an open mind about the new film!

It would be very neat and great if Miko played a father who loses his son in a tragic accident because in "Pet Sematary" he played a son who dies tragically alive and an zombie son killer and now he would play a grieving father that would be so great to see the tables have turned and the actor Dale Midkiff who plays Louis Creed in the original "Pet Sematary" would have said my "Pet Sematary" movie son has grown up" if he saw Miko playing a dad who's son gets killed.

I just saw it tonight and having Ellie be the evil one was so much more effective. Gage, even as an evil toddler, still would have the mind of a toddler and would behave more like a rabid dog, he wouldn't have a huge vocabulary, whereas Ellie can really say some fucked up shit and boy does she in this film, she reads some people for filth,and let's face it little girls can be evil little bitches and bullies to each other when they want to be, so this really works on so many levels.Plus with Ellie as the evil one, this makes Gage now the psychic one who has visions of Pascal and he occasionally murmurs his name to his parents who ignore it,and it becomes quite heart wrenching to watch as the child becomes hopeless about trying to stop his father and not understanding what these visions are because he has the mind of a child and he probably thinks Pascal is really there in front of him. I found it chilling, and the ending was fucking disturbing as hell, I will be up late tonight thinking about it. So much better than the original, and John Lithgow stole the movie, heart and soul!!
@valerinapr90355 жыл бұрын
Bottom line. NEVER BETTER the original. Og had better pace more twist. Him waking up to his family dead because of him in the original sent more chills down my spine than a little vulgar girl. This only had twist because we already know what happens in the original. THERE IS A REASON THE OLDER ONE WAS ICONIC AND STILL STANDS ABOVE NEW AGE HORROR. zombie family really? Womp womp tacky.
@darthtrip71885 жыл бұрын
I think the 1989 movie is a decent to good overall film but I think the new one is better overall. The new one has better acting overall, better production, better writing/dialogue, etc...and this new one is actually more book accurate overall even with the major change and ending (Hey, the book didn't end with Louis sucking face with his dead, bloody, and zombie Wife, Rachel, either..so whatever)..and the 1989 movie, like Miko Hughes himself said, is dated in some ways..it's true. The book is the true original and the best version of Pet Sematary..the two films are just adaptations. BOTH films are better than that horrendous Pet Sematary 2 though.
@Robert-nu4vc Жыл бұрын
Jete is a terrible actor and her role as Ellie in the remake ruined the whole thing. It was stupid. No Timmy Baterman except for a quick flash of a newspaper clipping. No Wendigo except for a dark, blurry, misty, hard to see mess. The ending was garbage. The reanimated dead burying other dead people just takes the grief and emotion out of the movie completely. The grief and pain is a huge part of the story and it's why people bury their loved ones there in the first place. Just a garbage remake. Nowhere near as good as the original. Not even close.
@alexxharrinton76175 жыл бұрын
I agree with Miko: I don't think this is a massive switcheroo, more like the bloodthirsty filmmakers are just upping the body count.

@Robert-nu4vc Жыл бұрын
I was excited for the remake, but it was a big letdown. The directors said it would be closer to the book than the original movie, and they outright lied. It's so far from the book. The plot twist was dumb, there was no mention of Timmy Baterman other than a newspaper clipping, no Wendigo again besides a dark shadowy smokey blur that you can barely see, and that ending is just horrible. I really hate the idea of the reanimated dead burying the dead. It takes away the grief and emotion from the story and thats the reason that people bury their loved ones there in the firsr place, because of grief and pain. The new Pascow was a waste, but they did good on the makeup effects though. I'll give them that, but that was the only good stuff in the movie. The actors were all terrible choices except for Rachel Creed and Gage. They did good casting those roles. Lithgow was terrible as Jud and just seemed like a bitter old man who you didn't really care about at all. Louis and Ellie's actors were terrible too. It's just a waste of a remake. They had 30 years to come up with something good, we get a deadfall of garbage instead.
@ojmcclanahan6893 жыл бұрын
Pet Sematary 2019 was a goddamn tragedy. Hands down the most disappointing movie I've seen since Freddy vs Jason. They took far too many creative liberties with the story, the movie itself has no feeling at all, and some of the casting was off by a mile. Jason Clarke is a good actor, but he just wasn't right for Louis Creed.
