I may be in the minority, but honestly I find the volume of the vocals perfect and have no problems hearing them. The song is a soft one, especially if you listen to the original its a very soft vibe song. Even as a metal cover it conveys that softness still with the added roughness- like rain before a thunder, the rain is still present but now there's that kick of thunder that reverberates through you. I feel like the vocals going above the instrumentals wouldn't hit as well as it does. But that's just me and I probably explained it horribly.

The original song gives me resignation and longing. The soft vocals of Mr Kitty with the lowkey vibes of the instrumentals make you just settle into the couch you're in, accepting a fate you think is inevitable. This cover gives me longing, but that longing makes you fight to hold onto what you hold dear. Pissed off even, that whatever is keeping you from reaching what you wish exists in the first place. The soft vocals give the longing, a soft, desiring soul, but the fires of passion push you forward to grab it and keep you close.

Not only did you do an amazing job with the cover itself, but you actually kept the vibe of the original song perfectly intact while still making it heavy, while many others probably would've just turned it into a screaming fest. Not saying that there's anything wrong with a brutal song with a lot of screaming, I listen to plenty of death metal, but when it comes to covers of songs like After Dark, I like being able to tell that it's still the same song at the end of the day. The overall volume of the song is not really my fault. KZbin automatically brings down the volume so that all the videos on their website are at the equal loudness. The song was mastered to -9 LUFS which (I assume you don't know about this stuff) is plenty loud. Yes some commercially released metal and pop music are mastered to even louder volumes, but they are compressed and squashed to oblivion with no dynamic range in sight. I try to always keep the dynamic range of my music relatively high. so that it can be both loud and quiet whenever it is required. Thank you! 💛

okay, this showed up the other day on a mix on my tv so i didnt really have the chance to REALLY listen but. i believe i’ve been pierced by cupid’s arrow. i simply MUST hear more from you. i actually feel like the vocals aren’t too quiet, but i can understand where others are coming from, but the instrumentals and visuals all mixed in are also just.. transcendental in a way. it feels like a hug from the abyss and tastes like a really good dark cherry cola.
