Today I will teach how to talk about
1. what OTHERS want to do.
2. what OTHERS feel
If you have been studying Japanese for a while,
You might have heard of
たがっています(Tagatteimasu) /
ほしがっています(Hoshigatteimasu)
And you might have learned you can't use "たい" to talk about what others want to do.
So today I will explain A FEW EXPRESSIONS you can use to talk about what people want to do and feel.

Me too. I think Japanese don't say much what people want because it's not in the Japanese culture to say something that strong. I guess they will say ミクの誕生日って、プレゼントはいいかな and not that much ミクの誕生日って、プレゼントが欲しがってる The second sounds like Miku requested it. So it's super strong, and sounds like a kid's request something. Even, if someone said they want, they will probably say プレゼントが欲しいと思う

Thank you for the lesson. Regarding the subtitles, I kept matching the red colours but then I realised they are not related at all. I think it's definitely nice to separate certain parts with colours, but maybe also separating their context would be even better. Like furigana characters are red, so is the word "said".

Wow! 今回、たくさん微妙な事を習ったと思います。ありがと! すでに,ファンになった。 Dear Miku, I wish you could use a different font for the texts that you display during the lessons, so that the details of the Kanji characters are easier to identify. For me as beginner there are many unknown Kanji, and so it would be helpful to really see more details - to memorize them more precisely and for writing them down. For people who can already really read Japanese the font doesn't seem to matter very much, even if many complicated kanji look just like a blob. But that is not so for me as a beginner. Thanks a lot. (BTW, I looked up that big word I tried to use above - subtleties, and found: 微妙, びみょう, na-adjective)

Miku-san I need some advice. I truly hate to bother you, but you make incredible videos, and you are one of the most honest Japanese KZbinrs I can think of! Also you understand what is like to be a Japanese KZbinr. There is a KZbinr named ミ-ミちゃんねる. Mimi-chan's videos are for children and she currently has 150,000+ subs. I am very worried that because of KZbin's new policies, all of Mimi-chan's and Mimi's mother's hard work is going to be destroyed. My question is, how do video makers find sponsors in Japan? Are Japanese KZbinrs concerned about the changes happening, and if so what steps are they taking to protect their channels? Sorry for the long post, but I truly love ミミちゃん family and she has worked super hard on her dream! My own family members are big fans and I feel like I have to help. Thank you Miku-san, Both for all of your wonderful work on this channel, and any feedback that you may have!

And also in some situations you can use は particle to show contrast And when you want to say that someone wants something(so this grammar construction that she was explaining) you need to use を particle(smbd は smth を 欲しがる/ほしがっている Hope my explanation helped😊

In this video I hear "Miku wants to loose weight"..... 😂The continuity in your videos, not just in the amazing skits, but also in the meta, is amazing! 🤣 I just want to say that I watch a few good Japanese teachers here on YT, and there can often be an imbalance between English and Japanese.. You get that balance absolutely perfect! There's enough English for me to understand the lesson, and also appreciate your humour! However, you also provide so many opportunities for listening practice, sentence and grammar practice... Miku-sensei, thank you so much! Your videos are wonderful, and for me I think the most effective of all. I know this is an old video.. I am up to date with your life updates, but still early on my Japanese learning! Be well Miku 🙏

Hi Miku, I love your videos, you do a great work. I have a question though: In the beginning you say, that you use らしい、and そう, because you can never be sure if the person you talk about is buying a house (verb +らしい) or is happy (adjective + そう). But in case of a negative feeling you can? Why can’t you say 怒りらしい?Love from Belgium
@waylonybm1800
@waylonybm1800 4 жыл бұрын
S. Magnus the correct grammar to say will be 怒るらしい if you have to. But 怒っているらしい is closer because 怒る means about to get angry, but still it is weird for らしい has “I heard...” or “I believe...” meaning. Actually 怒っているみたい(よう)だ (みたいorよう has “look like” meaning, you can tell if the person is angry using your eyes) can be correct. 怒りそう is OK to say, but it will also mean looking like the person is about to get angry. So how about...怒っていそう? I don’t know about that. As you ask Muku 怒っている (which has equal certainty to うれしい as I understand) sounds like you’re hundred percent sure the person is angry and I’m also confused here.

@YagamiTrala
@YagamiTrala 4 жыл бұрын
You can freely use たい/ほしい in a question. But be careful as it sometimes sounds unnatural. For example when you are going out with a friend and you want to ask "What do you wanna do?" it could sound werid if you said 「何したい?」「どこに行きたい?」etc. It's more natural to ask 「なにする?」「どこに行く」etc. But lets say you went shopping with a friend and you want to ask "Do you want to buy anything/something?" you can freely say 「何か買いたいものある?」「なにかほしいものある?」. Basically because it's a question you're not assuming somebody wants to do something so it's okay to use 「~たい」、「ほしい」, but be careful with it!

A bit confusing Miku-chan. After going to great extents to explain that Japanese cannot put themselves in the place of others so cannot say X は,嬉しいです but must use one of your three options such as Xは,嬉しそうですyou then go on to say when it’s a verb you simply say, for example, Xは,怒っている. What happened to not being able to put yourself in the place of X? Another thing you didn’t explain is why it’s と言っているin past tense and not と言った. Finally, why didn’t you teach みたいです?
