There were so many levels to this Milan team it was unbelievable to watch. I was pretty sure this particular game back then meant they equaled the unbeaten run record in Serie a which was 44 games at the time. To think they would go on to 58 games is outrageous. I remember in Australia having Martin Tyler commentate for broadcasting company SBS and I still remember one specific comment from this match “Milan. They play it short. They play it long. Somehow they always play it well”.
