Synopsis:
Tootle and Katy Caboose meet the newest crane at Fausten and offer to help them out when a breakdown puts them out of work. But when Katy breaks loose and runs off by accident, it becomes a full-speed adventure across the tracks! Can they save each other before they crash off the track?

DIRECTOR'S NOTES:
Well, this episode took a hell of a lot longer to finish than planned, didn't it?
Loose Caboose had a pretty interesting production history; beyond the obvious inspiration of both finally introducing Tootle and Katy's dynamic and playing around with Katy's "loose" origins, this was originally planned back in 2019 for a tentpole DVD that ultimately never happened. Originally set during an arc involving Inkblotia Castle, the never-finished story (not even getting past a paragraph and a bit of outlining) was eventually salvaged and ended up being the first script penned of what became Season 2 that was written with another writer! Mika and I finished this around September 2020 or so, but sat in the backburner as the format, models, and voices were worked on.
Camanida (along with the redesigned Fausten we revealed a couple years back) was designed back in 2018, and ended up evolving quite a bit from their initial design (they almost ended up being a tower crane on rails!), and ended up fitting into the idea for the story I presented to Mika! She ended up bringing out a really fun script with what was developed and made for some incredibly fun set pieces for hands down the most ambitious episode since Tillie to the Rescue!
Originally, I was going to finish this ep on my own with Sooty already assisting on some major scenes for a June 2023 release....but doing two-and-a-half episodes and a bushel of shorts did a number on me. This episode would not have been possible nor made the December deadline we set ourselves without the INCREDIBLE work of Nascar, Toony, Lachie, and Sooty (and the rest of the cast and crew) who made this episode both possible and even better than I imagined. Immensely proud of this crew and what we're brewing next!
