GORETOBER DAY 4 : B R O K E N
Please note that at the time of writing this description my last braincell is falling asleep - HELLO HELLO AGAIN, sorry for the tiny hiatus, I got a cold and the sniffles are killing me, not to worry though, I'm getting back to work as we speak - Day 4 of Goretober is the redraw of Rainbow Dash' Death, and since I will put extra effort into that, the Goretober speedpaints aren't all in order, I'm sorry about that,, :c
On this piece I tried out a shading tutorial I watched with Aery, and I really like the colors with that style! I'll definitely be trying it out again soon. Please let me know your thoughts in the comments and I'll see you all soon!🌸

They didn't understand... Ever since the fires had started, her home had been a refuge to all the animals fleeing, fights breaking out in the tight space so filled with animals, she didn't know what to do. She couldn't ask her friends for help, they were already so busy. Twilight trying to fight the fires with magic while Applejack defended her farm from the nearing blaze, Rainbow Dash flying from miles and miles away just to bring rain clouds, Pinkie doing her best to console the fleeing ponies and Rarity working with the princesses to gather supplies. She wouldn't dare add to their workload with her own problems. It had been weeks since she had slept, since the nightmares didn't seem to come in from every side, filling the shadows with sneering faces and broken smiles. She couldn't stand to look in the mirror anymore, every glimpse only showed cracks and crevices she couldn't feel, her skin seeming to flake off in porcelain pieces though still whole under her hooves. Every trip into town seemed like a masquerade, the fake smiles, the quiet hellos, how could they not see the cracks! She didn't understand it. It hadn't been that long of a trip, only a quick in and out to grab some more bird feed, though the town stocks were severely deplenished. The cracks had been getting so much worse, seeming to carve canyons in her skin, bleeding a blackish blood, dripping to the floor in thick drops. The reflection in the window of the store showing her exactly what wasn't there. She smelled the smoke before she could see it, the scent of ash and burning wood sending her heart into overdrive. the birdseed was long forgotten behind her as she took off for the house, her legs seeming to cave and go beneath her as she covered the underbrush, trees and bushes flying past her. The smell only got stronger the closer she got to the cabin, the sound of growling and screaming mixed in with the crackle of fire and burning logs. It was in flames. The entire cabin was engulfed in flames that seemed to touch the clouds, the walls completely ablaze with the roof following. The screams and cries of animals filled the noise in between the flames as birds flew through the partially collapsed, aflame. they didn't make it fifty feet before the fell to the ground in troves, their petite bodies engulfed by raging fire, the smell of blood and burning feathers adding to the stench of death and fire. A horrible sob ripped itself from her chest, matching with those in the cabin, the bears and squirrels and deer screaming in pain. What could she do!? The flames were so high and hot she couldn't fly above and she didn't have the strength to fight through the fire to get to the broken door. And so she stayed, stayed and watched and cried as the screams of pain died down, one by one, the animals inside dying, one by one. even as the last cry stopped, even as her cabin was turned to embers, even as the fire around her burned the trees and undergrowth to nothing, she stayed. It felt like hours before the tears stopped, before the shaking ceased, before the ember turned cold She couldn't move, Her legs felt as if they would shatter if she dared take a step, and when she looked down she was right. Her legs had began to crack and break, little shards of porcelain chipping away from her body, blood dripping from the cracks, almost like oil. She watched as her body crumbled underneath her, watched as her hooves became dust and she fell to her knees, her weight shattering them into bits. She watched as her chest seemed to cave into itself, only looking away when her neck began to crack, forcing her head forward, to stare at the ashes of her home as her lungs caved, leaving her there to suffocate, her final moments filled with only the pain of a failing body, under the pressure of her own weight. And that was how she dies, under too much pressure too even breathe...

The second I saw the My Little Amnesia reference I fell mlm in love with the idea, but then I saw it had no relation and loved it even more. Still love your work that shows how emotions can bring themselves out for those who can't speak their feelings. This specific peice for instance, the title and the broken feeling, brilliant.

i love how instead of blitz making the words "under pressure" more literal by putting weights on fluttershy in her last work, she instead took the saying "crumbling under pressure" and visualised it to make it feel strangely relatable. great work as always blitz
