The Gospel: JESUS died for our sins on the cross, HE shed HIS holy, innocent , precious blood for us (HIS blood washes away ALL sins) HE was buried but on the third day GOD raised HIM from the dead. All you have to do to be saved is: Believe in JESUS, trust in HIS blood. JESUS did everything for you, no works are required for salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9)!!.,,

Q: What does a banjo sound like when it's completely in-tune? A: No one really knows
@Numlocq
@Numlocq 9 жыл бұрын
Michael Weston That's not really a particularly funny joke to be honest. Anybody who has ever played a banjo knows there's one answer. Most musicians who have heard a banjo also know what they sound like. Get down off your high horse and try learning to play the banjo yourself. Maybe then you'll be in a position to judge.
@mattw.keating7019
@mattw.keating7019 9 жыл бұрын
Ed Gein I think your overacting a bit to what is a joke that any committed banjo player has probably heard a dozen times. If the gentleman were to learn to play he would discover that there isn't one answer, there are actually dozens of tuning options for the five string banjo, beside standard open G. Most intermediate old time players will of played at least a couple of different tunings. Most people who play the banjo are fairly good laid back and know how to take a joke about a banjo and will also tell jokes about the banjo. Mark Twain (who played banjo) said "A gentleman is someone who knows how to play the banjo, but doesn't.
@Numlocq

You'd have to see the older movie called Deliverance. It had Burt Reynolds from way back when. Him and some of his buddies went on a little camping and canoe trip. In the process, when they got separated, a couple of them got captured by two hillbillies. One of them got raped by said hillbilly, so...its a bit of a running joke. You can often hear the saying of, "Paddle faster, I hear banjos!" or see it on t-shirts of the really geeky people here. It isn't that popular, but some people still keep the joke going.

Bloody brilliant! I'm just starting Banjo and am blown away with this - very inspiring :) All those that have criticised this video completely miss what music is all about. Music isn't about being perfectly in tune, or perfectly in time. It's about what Joel did - which is to go out there, give it a large portion and give the crowd something to cheer about. You can hear from the applause that he blew the crowd away. Job done.

They might call you a chink or something, but again, they won't really mean anything by it, haha. There are a few who are legitimate racists, but luckily most of those types are hermits. If i heard cripple creek once i've heard it a thousand times... my bro smoked that song, took almost 2 weeks practicing a little here and there. People who say he's no Earl Scruggs are off the mark. Besides the fact that no one is Earl but Earl, this kid's a pretty good banjo picker. If he'd have tuned his banjo it would have sounded pretty damn good. He also didnt have to try to play so fast, his timing suffered a bit when he really cranked it up. He coulda played at a more comfortable speed and it still would've been plenty fast enough. A little slower and an instrument in tune and it would be hard to criticize that performance.

As a person that grew up in WV, I hear "Oh, where the Hillbillies live!" every time I mention the state up here in my current state of Massachusetts....lol. I used to live next to a guy when I was a kid that we all called "The Banjo Man" because he was always out on his back patio playing a banjo. One day my little sister and I decided to ask him about his banjo and we learned that he also made custom banjos and guitars out of crazy things like shovels. I still think about him some 30 years later. My family and him became really great friends over the years of being neighbors. When I picked up the trombone, I would "jam" with him after school and on the weekends.❤ I find myself missing those days, even if there was nothing else to do in my town back then...lol!

Nc Outdoors so you automatically assume hes making fun of people thats like saying the kiss band was making fun of women with the make up they put on for all you know he could have had that from a play and put it on for his talent show and if your saying hes a yankee making fun others i doubt ge would learn to play a banjo to do it.

Nc Outdoors i do know what its like, and puting this out there, Maine can split their votes, southern Maine is very democrat however the majority or the state is republican. Southern Maine voted for a bitch (hillary) and where i live in northern Maine we voted for President Trump.

Definition of perfect pitch: When you throw a banjo onto a rubbish dump and it lands on a piano accordion!
@colemanadamson5943
@colemanadamson5943 4 жыл бұрын
Nope. The "piano accordion" as you call it, also called a squeeze box or just plain accordion and perfect pitch would be an accordion tossed onto a pile of bagpipes.

Just happened to upon this... it about brought tears to my eyes. My grandpa used to play cripple creek on the banjo. It was a familiar tune. Great job!
