I've known Argentinians, over the years, who described conditions as hopeless and left Argentina to escape.

Milei uses the term dollarization, but he has no preference for the dollar. He believes in the competition of currencies.

For those who may not know, in the 1950s, the question was, “Where do you want to live? Paris? NYC? or, Buenos Aires?

Western economies are also deteriorating bureaucracies hidden by rising debt. When repayment comes due they will all crash together.

These numbers coming out of Argentina sound outrageous…if there is a lagging effect on inflation going up, possibly years, how on earth, in 6 months no less, can that be accomplished…? It’s great yes, but hard to believe.

What do Trump and Argentina historically have in common? They both have loved sky-high tariffs.

Trump’s tariffs seemed to be a bit more targeted and strategic. We went after China who had been abusing WTO status to dump products on the US market blow costs, gift their manufacturing with tariff protection(how many US banks in China?), issue interest free loans to their industries, steal IP from US companies….i could go on. So, I think you assertion is a bit lame.

I'm not saying he hasn't had a net positive since coming in, but I'm not sold on him being an economic savior either given he still wants to connect Argentina to the u.s. monetary debtor's dollar.
