This season has a fresh, “next year” mentality. It doesn’t feel like the old, oh we got injuries so we can just reload next year. It’s more of a, “let’s set the foundation for future winning” feel to it. If we back door ourselves into a playin spot, yay.

I could see a Vasa Russ swap. Personally don’t want to keep Russ just don’t see him being okay with coming off the bench. Also don’t want him stunting the growth of Tre in the second unit.

So, is Miles Bridges our de facto media guy? He seems to be the go-to man for interviews and I don't know that I like that. Not that he shouldn't be allowed or something, but we have an entire roster and yet most quotes I see/hear are from Miles. Considering he's still treated as a pariah in the league (negative comments on socials, booed at away games, largely ignored by national media), do you think this is an effort to reboot his image, or is he really the only guy on the team with any kind of media savvy? Maybe some combo of those two things? It makes me a little nervous... I would trade Micic for Westbrook in a heartbeat. I think the criticisms of Westbrook are often unfair, similarly to how I think Kelly Oubre Jr was unfairly criticized. They have both been put down for being put into rolls that everyone knows they aren't suited for due to poor roster construction and probably poor coaching decisions, and then blamed for their teams' lack of success, to the point where Kelly goes on Podcast P and basically says playing for the Hornets made him fall out of love with basketball, and I think Westbrook said something similar about playing for the Lakers. Westbrook could be a great influence on the young guys, along with Taj Gibson, and I think he deserves to find a home on a team that appreciates him (and he'd probably appreciate the low-key media atmosphere in Charlotte). If the Hornets could utilize him in a role he could thrive in, I think that would be way more valuable than sad, tired, pouty Micic, who might perk up next to his friend Nikola. Now, whether or not that's a realistic trade re: salaries, I do not know. After these first three games, I wonder if the Hornets still have this tendency to only really show up for the entire game when they are playing a contending team. Going to be paying close attention to their enthusiasm in the Raptors game. I don't like that we lost to a team that turned around and lost to the Wizards.This seems like an issue that starts with LaMelo and trickles down through the team, if he's not feeling roused by the opponent, he has trouble motivating himself, so it often feels like they are "playing down" to teams that are more or less on the same level as them. For that reason I expect them to play better against the Celtics and Twolves (not win necessarily) and maybe be sloppy against Toronto. I hope I'm wrong! I think guys like Brandon Miller and NSJ help with this a lot because they are basketball sickos and can get themselves fired up and channel that into leadership (Brandon probably more so, right?), another reason I hope Lee finds some minutes for NSJ tonight with Brandon out!

Every player knows how to talk to the media, they go over they know nda stuff with every player. He did what he did and it's not a good look, especially hitting a woman, but it's the past, they have moved on from it and I think the fans and media need to move on from it and recognize this guy is a real talent in the NBA. We all mess up and he happened to mess up big time and everything got out, but it's time to move on from that and I think in some way it is to reboot his image, but don't think the other players can't take interviews, they can.

Denver will not trade Westbrook, he was signed to be a 6-7th player in the team that is a contender, and Micic is 9-10th option in the Hornets. Hornets could get Nnaji or Hunter Tyson for him. And I liked your comp with Kelly, I think this will be the same case with Micic, as he is not utilized properly and will fall out of love with NBA basketball. Additionally to Micic's out-of-form body from Olympics, he is utilized worse then last year when he played well. I guess it is because of the more modern offense from Lee (against Clifford's old-school offense which suited him), and some weird decisions to enter him instead of Mello against warmed up oppositions starters (as Mello is first of the floor in both teams). At this point, he will either sit-out until end of the year and return to Europe (80% of happening), or return his form on Hornets as he needs to play because of the injuries, and get back the favor of the public and have a nice 3 year NBA career, we will see.

Idk what's up with micic, he played lights out last year, he is terrible this year. I would want to play on this team, he wouldn't start no where else I don't think. But if your trying to play your way out, why not just go to the front office and tell them you want out. I just think it's crazy how he played last year to this year, he looks like a rookie this year, heck TS looks better than he does imo.
