DAMN. Skin isn't just one type fits all, and neither is beauty. Being the only featured youtuber at a convention with a face full of acne, or the only person on T in all my trans friends with this severe of acne really made me feel so alone and like I did something wrong. I hope this video reaches someone else who is feeling the same way I was. Dots on your face shouldn't matter to the person sitting next to you. And if it does, you need to move seats. If it matters to you hopefully some of my tips help! One day you just woke up on this rock floating in space, there is so much more to do than dwell on acne.

Robey Hines it’s impossible though, there is no such thing as flawless skin/normal skin other than on children and babies, everyone has breakouts etc on their face even if you can’t see them properly. Keep that in mind, you have to have some form of upkeep otherwise no matter what you will break out.

i had horrible acne for years and tried EVERYTHING. I eventually had to turn to Accutane as my last resort, which cleared up my acne but has caused other damage and side effects to my body I can't reverse. I will never forget the physical PAIN it used to cause me, and I will never forget the embarrassment and shame it made me feel, I'll never forget the times I missed out on social occasions because I was mortified to show my face, I'll never forget having to go to work and school every day despite it and not being able to hide. Thank you for always being so raw and honest in a generation of *cough* facetune and sponsored ads *cough* no but seriously, thank you for always being That Person for your younger audience. You are an incredible human being and I love you so fricken much. P.S : that Shrek look with the mask tho😂 is it destiny that the green mask turned out to be the one to help you?😂💚

I appreciate you being so open & honest. I do not understand why anyone would bully for something out of your control. It is not as if you were completely oblivious to a tonne of spots appearing in your body. Hopefully showing people how much hurtful comment can impact people might make some think twice before making derogatory comments on someone's appearance in the future. I am glad your acne cleared up & you do look much better, I am interested to follow the rest of your journey.

Thank you so much for talking about this. I’m like halfway through Grade 10 and have had acne since Grade 7. Like, baaaad acne. I’ve been to heaps of doctors and dermatologists and they gave me all these different serums, creams and antibiotics. Thankfully, it’s slowly starting to calm down and my acne scars have mostly faded, but I’ve had lots of comments from my friends and those around me about it all through high school. I’d always feel kinda self-conscious when people old complain about like a tiny pimple on their clear ass skin. AND THEY NEVER UNDERSTOOD HOW LUCKY THEY WERE. All these clear-skinned weaklings talking about how the skin care product of the month stopped their ‘acne’. You talking about this topic that isn’t really touched on by people who have actually had bad acne is really important so THANK YOU 🙏🏻

i've had severe acne for about 7 years now and no matter what i do or which doctor i go to nothing seems to help. it really has fucked up and even still is fucking up my self-esteem and i always feel extremely bad about my skin when i'm not wearing any makeup. but seeing you be so honest about your struggles with acne and how you still managed to stay confident and true to yourself is so helpful for someone like me who jas been struggling with the same issues for such a long time. i will definitely try out the prducts you recommended. thank you for posting this ily💜

I’m SO glad you finally talked about this! I have a similar experience: I recently started antidepressants after trying everything to not have to go on them, but still feeling absolutely miserable. I went on them and everything was fine for a little while, but then at about one month in, I started getting cystic acne. I talked with my doctor and turns out that this antidepressant is messing with my hormones, therefore causing this horrible acne. So now I’m stuck between having acne (which doesn’t help with my negative self image), and stopping this medication/ switching to a different brand where I have the chance that It’ll either not work, or I’ll become suicidal again. Hoping that since you were able to get through your acne and it eventually balanced out, mine will do the same. Guess I just gotta keep waiting it out.

not everyone has money for a dermatologist and people can research for their whole lives and it doesnt mean its going to fix their skin fast or at all. it takes time especially in teen years bc that's your hormones and there's no stopping it. other reasons people have acne is diet and not everyone can just change their diet. also some products may work for you but you cant afford to keep buying it. soo maybe you shouldn't judge people bc of their skin :)

Well done for talking about your acne, it is so hard to deal with when you have so many trolls just ripping you to pieces. I’ve had acne for most of my adult life, fortunately it is the best it has been in a while but it hurts so much when people comment, do they even realise that you are already stressed over it, they probably have nothing better to do with their sad little lives. You look great now Miles, can see how positive you are now. Puberty is over👏

Yes, seeing you with acne didn't make my own insecurity go away. BUT it did help me to rationalize how I felt about myself and helped me to realize that perfectly clear skin wasn't necessarily the end all be all to living a normal, happy life. That still holds an incredible amount of value, I don't care what you say. Thank you for being such a great role model for us.
