DAMN. Skin isn't just one type fits all, and neither is beauty. Being the only featured youtuber at a convention with a face full of acne, or the only person on T in all my trans friends with this severe of acne really made me feel so alone and like I did something wrong. I hope this video reaches someone else who is feeling the same way I was. Dots on your face shouldn't matter to the person sitting next to you. And if it does, you need to move seats. If it matters to you hopefully some of my tips help! One day you just woke up on this rock floating in space, there is so much more to do than dwell on acne.

Thank you so much for talking about this. I’m like halfway through Grade 10 and have had acne since Grade 7. Like, baaaad acne. I’ve been to heaps of doctors and dermatologists and they gave me all these different serums, creams and antibiotics. Thankfully, it’s slowly starting to calm down and my acne scars have mostly faded, but I’ve had lots of comments from my friends and those around me about it all through high school. I’d always feel kinda self-conscious when people old complain about like a tiny pimple on their clear ass skin. AND THEY NEVER UNDERSTOOD HOW LUCKY THEY WERE. All these clear-skinned weaklings talking about how the skin care product of the month stopped their ‘acne’. You talking about this topic that isn’t really touched on by people who have actually had bad acne is really important so THANK YOU 🙏🏻

Miles, I’m so proud of how far you’ve come. I’ve been following since you and Amy dated (lol) and it’s been a pleasure to see you grow.

I’m SO glad you finally talked about this! I have a similar experience: I recently started antidepressants after trying everything to not have to go on them, but still feeling absolutely miserable. I went on them and everything was fine for a little while, but then at about one month in, I started getting cystic acne. I talked with my doctor and turns out that this antidepressant is messing with my hormones, therefore causing this horrible acne. So now I’m stuck between having acne (which doesn’t help with my negative self image), and stopping this medication/ switching to a different brand where I have the chance that It’ll either not work, or I’ll become suicidal again. Hoping that since you were able to get through your acne and it eventually balanced out, mine will do the same. Guess I just gotta keep waiting it out.

in terms of skin care, I respect people with acne more than people without acne. If that makes sense.

LoFitz 546 well, if you have acne that means you are likely not searching far enough for a skincare routine or dermatologist visit

not everyone has money for a dermatologist and people can research for their whole lives and it doesnt mean its going to fix their skin fast or at all. it takes time especially in teen years bc that's your hormones and there's no stopping it. other reasons people have acne is diet and not everyone can just change their diet. also some products may work for you but you cant afford to keep buying it. soo maybe you shouldn't judge people bc of their skin :)

this reaches to me still. and did like 9 months ago when you first posted it and when my own acne vulgarism was at its worse. i washed my face CONSISTENTLY and still couldn't find out what i was doing wrong, its a challenge. medications and natural non-comedogenic stuff works! dont cover your face full of makeup, let it breathe. thank you SO MUCH miles xoxoxoxoxo

also when you said (along the lines) "i didn't want to talk about it, but everyone saw..........and no one knew how i felt", i FELT that so hard. thank you for putting frustrating emotions into words.

i’m really glad you made this video bc i’m 7 months on t and my acne is just as bad as yours was. it makes me crazy insecure. i’m so happy to be seeing the changes that i am but when i look in the mirror or at pictures of myself i’m genuinely grossed out by how bad it is. aaaanyway, all of this is to say that your story is a huge inspiration and it makes me feel so much more secure to see that it genuinely can get better

update 5 months later: i still have acne but it’s getting a lot better! i’ve been doing curology for a while and pretty recently started using aztec healing clay like you recommended. my hormone doc also prescribed a clindamycin cream which i use once a day in the morning and as a spot treatment at night. highly recommend all of it but i will say it’s Very Very Important to moisturize bc otherwise yo shit will be so dry she’s peelin

Well done for talking about your acne, it is so hard to deal with when you have so many trolls just ripping you to pieces. I’ve had acne for most of my adult life, fortunately it is the best it has been in a while but it hurts so much when people comment, do they even realise that you are already stressed over it, they probably have nothing better to do with their sad little lives. You look great now Miles, can see how positive you are now. Puberty is over👏

Oh my God dude I feel this so hard. I have acne and everyone at school is always making fun of it so I just laugh along, but it honestly hurts me because I do so much to help my acne and it seems like everyone thinks that I don't wash my face. I'm scared to transition because I already have acne and I know it'll probably get worse. Thank you so much for making this video, it honestly helped me a lot

Yes, seeing you with acne didn't make my own insecurity go away. BUT it did help me to rationalize how I felt about myself and helped me to realize that perfectly clear skin wasn't necessarily the end all be all to living a normal, happy life. That still holds an incredible amount of value, I don't care what you say. Thank you for being such a great role model for us.

I'm so damn glad that you got through all of that hate. You're such a kind and generous person with your time and your authenticity, and it really sucks that some people responded to that with cruelty. You deserve that absolute world, and I am so proud to see you continually push for better for you and the folks who look up to you.
