Revisiting some of my old favorite videos... This is the one that started it all for me. Sold me on the Digitone, and my studio has grown into a wonderful playground from there. This jam still sounds so good and the performance is superb. ❤❤❤

This jam still blows my mind. Incredible work Miles. It’s so good it’s not even funny. The sound quality is incredible. You almost can’t believe its all synth. When I used it live people asked it it had a compressor.

This is the best techno jam I have heard. I just got a Quantum Mark2 which is my first synth so I'm learning a lot. I will check out your tutorial. I do not quite understand how to make music without a DAW so I'm sure I can learn plenty.

Congrats on the synth! Yeah I have quite some videos about making DAWless music, however meanwhile I changed to a hybrid setup (DAW + hardware synths) which has proved for me to be the best working setup for both composing and playing live sets.

Hey Markus, vielen Dank dir, freut mich zu hören! Da nutze ich einen LFO der den Pitch um genau eine Oktave erhöht auf dem entsprechenden Trig in der Bass und Lead Spur. Der Trig ist so eingestellt, dass er nur im FILL Mode spielt (also wenn ich die PAGE Taste gedrückt halten). Cheers zurück aus Köln! :)

Wow, thank you Muze! That’s a big compliment as I’m a huge Ben Böhmer fan - his way of playing live has been a big inspiration for my current setup. And that’s honestly a tough question and I think it depends on if you are more a synth or sampler person. I’m definitely the first so I would go with the Digitone although it only has 4 tracks. Not knowing it too well but I think the Syntakt could be a nice standalone unit as well!

Hey man, thank you so much for your comment! This is basically two moves in one: First I hold MIDI and open the filter on all sounds. Then I hit FUNC + No to reload the pattern from the last safe state to go back to the normal pattern. :)

Thanks man! It's in fact something quite simple: an LFO with pitch going up on a twig that's only triggered when hitting the fill mode. I don't have a tutorial on that but I'm planning to make one about transitions on the DN and there will this one definitely be captured!

Cheers Matthew! Yeah I mastered the jam in Ozone 9 using a MB compressor, EQ, stereo imager etc. But delay and reverb are coming straight from the device.

I have an OP-1 and model cycles setup but I’ve been struggling to find the right connectivity for recording. Would like some advice from you, the audio out goes to your sound recorder and then to your camera? Or is it synced In post?

@@JaseOn nice set-up! In this video I recorded it with an old audio recorder (Olympus LS-5) from the Digitone's outs but it quite a noticeable noise floor. So today I record most of the time directly into Ableton and sync it in post. I recently also recorded a live set in a club directly to my camera which worked as well

Nice man, Just ordered a Digitone and a Digitakt. Also getting a Zoia but had to pre order. These videos are helping me so much. There's no tutorial about how to create build ups and drops on here by the way. Guess I'll have to learn myself haha.

Yeah, totally. After watching his Digitakt Experience, I had to buy one even though they were sold out, everywhere. Amazing how you guys just flo when you create music. I wish I could borrow your brain for a few nights. Haha

@@907-q7u thanks haha, appreciate it! 🙏🏻 But I can tell you that's not always smooth sailing, I often get stuck when creating jams and need to step away from the whole process for a few days to get a new perspective. That's why I admire those folks who draft a complete song/jam from scratch in only one session.

Ist in C-Moll. Der Arp spielt manchmal beim durchgehenden Part ein paar Töne außerhalb der Tonleiter, aber grob ist es in C-Moll :)
