I still remember how I got into fighting games because of Max, if I remember right I've been subscribed since 2012. I also remember just being like "ok, I want to learn the basics, with what game should I start...?" after watching a video tutorial of Max explaining basic notions to begginers like moving, blocking, throwing out a special move. (If anyone knows what's the video's name that would be great, it would be a blast from the past to re-watch it). And so I just downloaded an emulator, browsed through a list of SF games at EmuParadise (wich I think isn't even active in that front anymore, it took down all games) and I went with SF Alpha 3, "what could possibly go wrong?" Everything. The AI wiped the floor with my ass from stage one, and my first lessons about fighting games were: 1- Learning the basics against the CPU is a bad idea 2- Actually getting good at this is a lot more complicated than the button mashing I did when I was little 3- The AI on these old games is a fucking nightmare, especially to begginers After months of practice beating an arcade run of SFA 3 was my first acomplishment and that's were I learned another important lesson about fighting games: This shit's fun. And it's really gratifying when things work. It's been my favorite game genre ever since. So thanks Max, for teaching me fireballs, DPs, for getting me started and for keeping one of my favorite channels of all time running for all these years. Shine on Dood!
