Hey max, I just wanted to say i started playing umvc3 more seriously all thanks to you. I was actually getting a lot better. I could see when a match would go bad, and I was even winning all the tourneys my friends and I would make, and trust me i used to come out close to last. unfortunately I ended up falling off after a while and lost interest in watching matches online. But the thing with your vids is that even though i've lost interest in this, your vids still hype me up! keep it up dood!

i also want to point out that he got his team in that exact order too (could have easily been doom/strider/akuma instead). add in that probability fact and that number gets even bigger

I suck too at it and I know I messed up big somewhere. Does that count the importance of team-order in the equation as well? Because Max got Akuma/Doom/Strider. He could have ended up with a team order of Doom/Strider/Akuma; which has less synergy.

Max, why don't you go into training mode, then set it to search for Player, or Ranked matches? Since you're connected to the internet you get the kind of lag 'randomness' which helps for training for online, and you can do something while waiting for games.

Not to mention he got Red Doom, which is his standard for Team Assist me. And while he didn't get Black-Red Strider, he still got the other red strider that he sometimes uses.

max plays knowing the mechanics of fighting games in general not the single characters (except when the random gods bless him with his mains XD) and that's something you don't learn if you haven't been playing fighting games "hardcore" for a long time.

I know what your saying dude, and its is about me and the characters I got during that playthrough. And there are three things you need to take into account: 1. We where playing random select, even the best players at this game have characters that they are not great with. 2. This was the first three matches I played, where as Max had 6 matches against good competition. 3. I wasn't expecting to actually find Max, I was partially stunned that ran into him.

3:37 It's unbelievable that Max got his favorite and mainly used characters from Random-All. But the odds of him getting his favorite Akuma costume as well? To be that lucky is pretty much immeasurable. 8 costumes per character (counting DLC and H&H). 117,600 team combinations (Not counting assists). I know I am not being completely accurate, but the odds that happening were something like 1 out of a number with 60+ zeros behind it) Max should've used that good luck to pray for a CvS3.

For Iron Man, you never do Crouching H raw up close. You should rarely combo into Cr.H because of how awkward it is. If you ever pick up Iron Man again, remember that if you do connect with cr.L, make sure the chain ends with a STANDING H.

I get that you may feel slight frustration when watching these, if some gets the characters your used to playing and they mess something up that you'd usually get right. But you have to remember its random select, We'll just say we both have good points and leave it at that. :)

Yeah I got two of my worst characters in that match She-hulk and Felicia. I knew it was going to end badly, I'm just glad I was able to put up more of a resistence in the other two matches.

Yeah. I only know this off the bat because I just went through an exam for math. Still, M.O.D.O.K. ('comic book geek' mode on) would figure out the mechanics of the 'random all' system, of which I suspect it isn't that chance-based as we'd initially assume. ;)
