This song is such a core memory because I remember listening to it all the way back in 2008, I don't even remember how I came across this song but I remember being so obsessed with learning the lyrics even though it was my first ever exposure to english music and english wasn't my native language. First of all, no, she wasn't forced to be like this. Almost every teenager is like this. Secondly, this stage of her only lasted in her teens, not "half of her life". The girl is 22, she is no where near the half of her life.

I agree. She was definitely forced to act as a certain type of girl that she portrayed on television. She was known to everyone as the Miley from the Hannah Montana show; no one knew the actual Miley like her close friends and family did. The Disney corporation basically owned her. Whenever I see her doing something wild, I don't really think her motive is to try and gain attention from her fan base. I think she does certain acts to prove to the Disney corporation that she can do whatever she wants. It's like a big "fuck you" to Disney. And I just wanted to remind all of you, during the Hannah Montana period I remember seeing on the news that Miley took "inappropriate" photos of herself and also claimed she wanted to do porn. I'm not sure if the entire claim of her wanting to do porn is true, however those pictures she took are real. I'm pretty sure someone has influenced that "sexual" mentality in her head since the day the photos were leaked and I'm almost positive the Disney corporation had something to do with it.

When I was in high school, I had a very quiet classmate who almost never speaks. Then on a class trip on a private resort, I was surprised to see her with a mic on the karaoke. She sang this song.
