That would be the result of Miley. In the Joe Rogan podcast she talks about how she had this concept and the producers fought her on it and chastised her for being difficult because of the lighting that she requested.
@AndreaVidaManda4 жыл бұрын
@@echobean5222 It's funny because I've seen similar lighting in 4K kpop productions, Studio Choom for example. So I kinda get Miley's point. It can be done. I think the most challenging part is that she chose such extreme, high contrast lighting with BOLD colors. The first thing I noticed was that the uploaded video here is encoded incredibly well! It's actually a technical feat. There was a moire effect on her silhouette in the beginning, but that's unavoidable. Then the file not getting mercilessly squashed by uploading it on KZbin is another kind of miracle. I wanna know the technical deets tbh, this was such a deceptively simple production but man this such an amazing technical feat!

@AndreaVidaManda4 жыл бұрын
@@echobean5222 Oh I'm no expert by any means, just speculating on what made this a challenging production. I agree that Miley called the shots here. I understand why the production team complained so much. This set up requires actual expertise to pull off properly.

As someone who was once basically your average Disney hating atheist intellectual powerhouse teenage millennial (think the prototypical redditor before it existed, an edgy 4chan lurking memelord) I hated on Miley the same way we all hated on Bieber and any other such easy target. Not that I was ever actually invested in hating anyone, it's just an avenue to channel typical angsty teen frustrations and pettiness. Because I was never really invested in her career or personal growth, this song came out of nowhere for me and I genuinely enjoy it in a way I never thought I would with a Miley Cyrus song lol. The fact that, according to her Joe Rogan's podcast, Cyrus concept ed this performance and aesthetic impresses me massively, IMHO its better than the video, plus the break in the first chorus is ace. To find out she was dealing with resistance to achieving this also adds to its charm and one finger up to the technician/lighting man who dismissed her as difficult. Art - I want more-
