@Twist Well, I think, that because she adds her own distinctive twist to almost any genre, she deserves credit. True she's not an abundantly talented musician like Dolly Parton or Stevie Nicks who write what they perform, something's to be said for her ability to sing (Jolene, 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover.) She's not a musical genius but she's a good performer and good interpreter of songs. Whether this garners her admiration and respect from music fans is truly a personal choice.

@Twist She makes her covers her own and performs them with her whole heart and soul. Yea, it’s not her original songs but so what? She enjoys performing them, and let’s be honest, no one pays attention to Miley’s better songs. It’s either the crazy ones or her covers of classics like this song.

Her voice has dramatically changed over the years.. from her time in the lime light, limiting her vocals to one genre would be a huge disservice to anyone with ears who likes literally anything else. The girl can sing everything. Even freestyle rap. Ask her yourself and see if she is not too embarrassed to post it despite how cringe it is coming from a little white girl 🙃

Well now since she has the power to do what she wants and not what her record label/manager tells her, she’s so much more musically powerful. I don’t care for her music, but she’s experimental, she’s adaptive, and has a brilliantly unique and unusual voice. She’s definitely very unique for a headlining artist, a lot of them are typical (like Justin Bieber, I would say he’s a good singer - but his music is average and hasn’t ever really changed).

Sure, i agree 100%. Too bad, however, she chooses to utilize her power and her voice to be disrespectful towards our country....instead of just being who she wants to be and living her life however she chooses. You know, you can say her voice, her opinion, but use that in the same context only with our previous President's name, Donald Trump, and pay attention to how all of the sudden it doesn't seem to apply for him....and think about how unfair that might come across to those who support him and agree with him. Thats a little over half the US citizens who feel slighted by people who say her opinion, her voice when she denounced this country and publicly unsulted and showed unbridled hatred for our former President yet when he said absolutely anything at all he wasnt given the same indifferent attitude. He had a flashlight up his backside for 4 straight years and endured that kind of disrespect by a mob-mentality-type group of people on the daily, and did so with more dignity than most, including ms cyrus, could have possibly faked. I wasnt even that excited about his win in 2016 because i wanted Ted Cruz to win, but watching the vultures go after him day after day after he accomplished as much as he had promised in spite of the DNC doing everything they could think of to stop him, my respect and admiration grew considerably...as did everyone else that i spoke to who agreed with conservative politics and was blown away by his commitment and loyalty to our country! I hate that i like this version of the Blondie song because of her nasty attitude and bad influence on children showing her hyper-sexuality without regard for her younger fans, and/or more modest fans, but im able to admit it and explain that although i disagree with almost everything about her, i like her passion.
