10:41 One of the best RS5T recordings I've ever heard. Sounds eerily similar to a recording I got of CSX 3194 last year

great video. I really love these videos pre 1990s , that is before the internet and with it the graffiti flood, where there still was lots of fallen flags and good variations on the freightcarfleets, and all more or less free from grafitti. A decade later the trains were drowning in graffiti. Compared to the railroads of today, all lookalike, this sure is gold ! thanks !

Absolutely no graffiti. What a sight to behold.

It’s depressing to watch these videos and see how much railroading has changed. I do like fitch lights though.

How far East did the double track go at this time or was this just a passing siding?
@wmuzeke Жыл бұрын
It went to Wawasee. Then single track from there to Kimmell. When the B&O converted the line to CTC in the 1960s they technically kept it as "double-track" in the timetable, even though much of it was single track. No passing sidings were listed between Pine Jct. and Garrett in the timetable. Milford Jct. was listed as WEDT (west end of double track), Wawasee was EEDT, etc.

Do you happen to know what the train symbol is for the WEPX trains? Great video! I grew up on this mainline in Portage near Willowcreek! ~Ted
@wmuzeke Жыл бұрын
Not sure what symbol they used and I don't recall hearing it on the radio. They just called the signals over the air as "CNW xxxx, clear signal..." I would be interested in knowing, too. Back in the day CTC Board magazine had specific info like this regularly, but you'd have to look on Ebay or at train shows for issues that far back.

@wmuzeke Thanks for the info. Yes I will look into finding some of these magazines as I plan to model the B&O Garrett Sub era 1992 in ho scale. That train was always one of my favorites with the neat P&LE caboose and CNW power. Was always great to see. From what I remember, it ran a few times a week. I have made a list of train symbols from back then but I know I am still missing some of them. Your videos have helped me though. Thanks for postin!

Sure. That is a good year to model with all of the variety. I have more of the Garrett Sub spanning 1990 - 1995'ish that I'll eventually get to editing & uploading.
