However, the new you could be also seen as a new person entirely, leading the old you to practically immolate yourself to make the new you happier. (New you is a stranger, you sacrificed everything for.) Probably not what the original commenter was saying, but hey, I'm here.

@@chonglengli You have pretty much defined my interpretation. Except it's not just advancement of the self, but the *achievement* of creating the self. The old "you" and the idea of the new "you" struggle against each other fighting for supremacy, creating chaos within. Doubt will pop up in your mind to push you off of your desired path to the new "you"... so you have to immolate your old self, which is obviously painful, as the old "you" is still *YOU* , but it is also your greatest enemy in achieving your goals.

Thank you guys, just to make sure i understood, I will try to make a example, someone who constantly "falling in love" just to have a meaning in life is trying to create his self by abandoning this belief that he can only be completed by having someone by his side and live for that person. He is trying to insert in his head that this is not okay and he should change to something better. Problem is, the you that you want to achieve is always battling with the old you, you need to immolate the old one to create the new one. You need to ignore the callings from the old one and make sure he is not heard.

Also, the one from upstairs of the starting area (but unreachable until much later due to traversal powers needed) wanted so much to talk to the protagonist Lily when she wakes up, even though she was told her 'new sister' would be mute. @MisaShiro yup, just beat it for myself. there are 3 endings to the game, A, B and C. A is sorta it's own thing that you find throughout the playthrough. B is sorta the default ending. and C is what you get if you actually explore and collect the right things before the end

If you get Ending C (not easy, mind you), you can finally relieve Fretia of her burden without Lily ending up as just the next host for the Blighted Lord, avoiding continuing the cycle of suffering. Well worth it if you haven't already. That said, it's still a deeply moving song for me, and you're right about it communicating their burdens very vividly!

Fretia said that Lily absorb all of the Blight in Land's End (including Fretia's) but with The Aegis Curio she's strong enough to completely hold it in without it leaking from her body. So in a way in ending C, Lily still ended up as the Blighted Lord and retaining full control while bearing the burden of all of the Blight by herself.

@@bruhinator1502 I thought it was play on words from the song. Lily also can be read as yuri or slang for girls love in Japanese. The lyrics can be read as talking about a love that they tried to put their all into that was never going to be returned and how they wish they never fell in love because it was impossible for their feelings to be returned in the first place. If you take the heavy emphasis of lilies which can symbolize lesbians combined with the lyrics on unrequited love it's not a huge stretch. Tho not really a relationship more like a lesbian whos crush didn't like them back and how they feel disappointed.

Originally I loved this song because it reminded me of TPN as well as a story I was writing. A few months later, I found out a very close family member had cancer. This song was stuck in my head for weeks then, it fit so perfectly how I felt, and I couldn't stop singing it. It's the epitome of sadness and loneliness, and the fear of loss and grief. It's one of my favourite songs now, and to me, the saddest. I know it word for word and it is a melody that means a lot to me. Thank you, MiLi. And sometime I'll have to play Ender Lilies if it has this amazing of music :) Also thank you, Casei, because your voice is the easiest for me to vocalise with of any musician I've found.

im haven't played ender lillies so im not sure what this song is about. but its one of my favorite songs. when i hear it i think about the time ive lost as a child due to disabilities. "i gave it my all, isnt it supposed to be sunny now" really resonates with me, when id give everything my all, try everything to feel better, to show people that i was okay when i wasnt, and the sun didnt come. "thought id be satisfied seeing you on the other side" resonates too. im happy that im doing better, but i lost all my teen and childhood years to illness, im not satisfied. "isnt it better to be dumb to be ignorant, knowing there is liberty in this world not meant for me", i feel like thats self explanatory. ill never experiences many things. ill always have people that see my existence as a problem, ill always be in chronic pain. sometimes ive wished that i wasnt all here. im rambling but this song is so signifigant to me.

I don’t think the meaning is that literal I think it’s more like she does all these self sacrificial things for the other girl for her to notice that she loves her and even ends up dying in the end but that’s just my Interpretation

I adored this song and played it on my school laptop everyday while in art class for a month. It's so pretty, I haven't been able to find it since graduating and couldn't remember the name. After finishing the game, this song feels so weighty, like a bunch of burdens placed on me...some part of me wants to cry for this song. Also the game is a 9/10, Hoping for DLC to make it a 10/10, story is pretty nice although fragmented behind all the secrets.

I wish DLC can let us have the opportunity to bear her burden in some way, It's obvious that she will not like ending A, but this is really the best result that "dumb" deserves... if have chance, I don't mind using the umbral knight to complete the whole game to reduce the weight she needs to carry, (I use this way for all bosses fight anyway...) god... she's just a child.

My favorite lyric is "isn't it better to be dumb, to be ignorant, that there is liberty in this world not meant for me." As there is a slight but powerful difference between if you read it as "there is liberty...not meant for me" vs "...in this world not meant for me" I'm not sure what the plot of the game this song is for, but those lyrics pack a wallop.
