A 2000 year old Indian instrument nearly getting extinct. The ceramic industries of south Asia should seriously sponsor this instrument and also help in the production of better sounding bowls. Ceramic experts have a habit of sounding a product for finding the quality. The treble notes are better than a xylophone but the bass notes are less ( could be developed). Some ragas have been composed on this ancient instrument.
