Good review. I can't quite love this, the branding and the applied dots at the 5 & 7 position. So, hoping one of the other Aliexpress brands use the dial to make a more basic 3 hand version without the subdial.

Thank you! I know what you mean by the branding, Militado doesn't fit with the style of the watch.

Can we do budget watches not on Ali express / potential fakes? For $70 I feel like I’d rather spend $100 and get some legit

it's too bad they didn't brush the bezel, if it had a sapphire crystal I wouldn't be worried about brushing it myself

I am noticing a trend of watch reviewers wearing smaller and smaller watches. I don’t get it. Whilst I can appreciate the aesthetics and quality of the watch, it looks like you are wearing a child’s watch. I’ve found my sweet spot to be 42mm but will consider 40-45mm based on how it wears. I get that more slender guys would want a 38 or 39mm, but 36mm looks better on a lady or a kid. Sorry mate. BTW, keep up the quality reviews! 😊

Haha no need to apologise, its all personal taste at the end of the day. I used to be like yourself and like bigger watches. My first proper watch was a 44MM breitling, which I still wear. I'm just finding my self appreciate smaller watches recently. Thank you for the comment and support!

I get this too. For a Diver, I won't go below 42mm, 44 preferably. For a dress watch though, 38-40 is great, they can have real wrist presence because there is no bezel forcing a smaller face. Having said that, older watches can be smaller, I have a 1980s Seiko at 36mm, yeah, it's small but that is how they were then, and I love it. When I started watch collecting, I did buy some 50mm watches, they weigh more than a large steak LOL. I still love them, but they taught me that for me, 48mm was kinda my max (for Diver) and 42 was my max for non diver. I have a 7"wrist btw. I bought a beautiful 38mm watch a few months ago, pilot style, the benefit of the size is that the all the hands extend to or near to the numerals at the edge of the dial, it looks amazing proportionally. My advice, buy a relatively cheap pilot or dress watch at 38mm, where there is no 'bezel' to waste dial space and see how you like it. I could never get a small Diver, it would in my mind look really crap, but at 38mm where there is no bezel eating up dial space, you might be surprised how good they look. 36mm though, yeah, they are for kids :)

@wildwalkeruk I have a Tudor blackbay 58 on a jubilee bracelet, which is a 39MM, its a beautiful watch, probably my favourite in my collection. I wouldn't go smaller than that for a diver. My breitling is 44MM, I wouldn't go bigger than that, it's big ol watch and heavy too. I get what you mean with no bezel making the watch appear bigger as the dial is bigger, good shout 👍 Like I said, it's all personal taste, that's what makes this hobby so great! Thank you for your comment 😊

It does seem though that most watch wearers need smaller sizes. Most people don’t have large wrist or “workout” enough to develop larger forearms. I like 40-44mm, but can still rock 36-40mm as well. My dad has huge plumbers hands and can easily wear a 46-50mm watch and wouldn’t look out of place.

Or larger watches which look like a child wearing an adult watch.
