I just received 50% for PTSD (MST), It’s taken 20 years with my psychologist at VA. I’m a Vietnam era veteran 72’ - 75’and things were not good, alcohol, drugs etc. Thank you CC&K. Fellow veterans, start reading as much as you can, and videos like these are extremely helpful. Now I’m at 60%.

Thanks for all the work you do!! I just had a horrible C&P exam with a provider that did not care about my MST/PTSD symptoms!!! I know she will not diagnose PTSD for my MST!!! Don't know what to do next!!!

Your reply is not showing publicly, but I saw it. What documents did you include with your claim? What proofs? Stressor.. Statement in support.. Witness/Lay statements.. ??

If you feel you did not get a fair evaluation make a complaint right away! Request to get a new MST (Military Sexual Trauma)/PTSD evaluation. Was the evaluator you were seen by a male or a female? The reason I ask is because after going through something extremely traumatic such as MST it is difficult to really share deep down inside on how MST/PTSD affects you when speaking with a male doctor. I have experienced MST too when I served in the U.S. Army. If you are granted a 2nd chance for an MST/PTSD evaluation, request to see a female only! As another person suggested, you can seek an evaluation and treatment by a non-VA doctor. The main thing is you have a doctor confirm that you have PTSD due to MST. It will be easier to obtain a Nexus Letter from a non-VA doctor for your MST/PTSD.

I joined the Army when I was 18 and got out of basic and when I was in AIT i was deverginized. After this happened I caught herpes. I didn't know what was happening to me the burning and the soars. WHen I found out I told my partner and she immedialty broke up with me and cheated on me with someone else. This was horrible expereicne and has effected my hole life. Im not sure if this is considered sexual trauma but I was defitly tramatized and very confused at the time.

Do the letters from family members clergy and chaplains need to be signed or do contact information just need to be listed on the supporting letters?
@tommoore5772 жыл бұрын
I contacted my commander and he wrote a statement confirming the MST event. It's been 9 months and 3 letters from the Veterans commission saying sorry its taking so long they are working on it and 1 letter 2 months ago saying they were going to make a decision in 15 days. I see a va mental health 2 times a month and group. I'm getting very concerned. I have not even had a C&P yet.

I feel so bad for waiting 20 years to file a claim. I was denied last year due to using the wrong form and it is so hard to redo the forms. I have an anxiety attack every time i try. I thought the bad feelings would go away after the years but it has gotten so much worse. I don't know what to do.

In rated 50% for MDD. (I was treated for depression while on active duty in the Navy). I also have GAD. I have briefly talked about MST. It is something I have pushed away and avoided. It was something that happened. I guess because I thought "others have it worse" and "no one will believe me or care" As I'm moving forward, I'm beginning to believe that it was a catalyst for my anxiety and depression. At the time, I was in the military where my prefoance plummeted. I was sent to psych. I never addressed this while I was on active duty. I still have trouble with anxiety, insomnia, and interpersonal relationships. I don't know if bringing this up would do anything about my rating. It might help in therapy yo get to the root of some of my mental health problems.
