Military officials won’t say why a senior enlisted Marine at the San Diego recruit depot was arrested and sent to the brig last week. KPBS military reporter Andrew Dyer says court filings suggest domestic violence.

Dude shouldn't be called out until the investigation is over, getting the community into a stir before all the facts are brought forward is irresponsible.

In the military you don’t get due process. You barely have rights. You can be found guilty just because they think you did it.
@nickc88193 күн бұрын
Per the UCMJ , you can be charged ...pretty much, guilty until proven innocent.
@dimaknopf2 күн бұрын
It's because his wife went public with the information. When I was in I had the same issue except I didn't get charged because my wife at the time actually attacked me first. The yelling and violent nature of the Marine corps is contagious.

Agree.. we are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Releasing too much information can cause an unjust treatment. It will come out in trial. From a former Marine and 24year Law Enforcement Officer.
@braddowens62203 күн бұрын
No! Innocent before proven guilt. An allegation is just that. Could be true, could be a lie. The military has its own accountability to itself, UCMJ. The “military’s integrity” isn’t on trial. Have you ever heard of handling things “in house?” Without all this damn “social media” meddlers wouldn’t be entertaining themselves….

He's in the military you're guilty until proven innocent. You don't have the right to remain silent and you do not have a right to a Lawyer.
@jk41shadow2 күн бұрын
Exactly, you got no rights in the military. It's Military Beurocracy then facts, then if you can prove your innocent your free. Then wont let you go until then. Deciding on what they seem fit your held in place. Brig, or home quaters or free to roam but not too far. Just the way it is, not to mention military charges then state and also federal charges that are seperate. That can be tacked on aswell, just depends on the circumstances.

When it comes to domestic violence, a man is considered guilty until proven innocent regardless of whether he is in the military or not.

Bullshit. You don’t know anything about the UCMJ.

After enlistment, our rights aren't gone, just kind of suspended for a number of years. And unlike civilian suspects, there is no bail for jailed military personnel. None.
@charlesburke2379Күн бұрын
It isn't difficult for anybody to go to the brig in there. Loads of responsibility and mistakes are often charged as crimes. Whatever the problem is now, this Marine has already served this nation with honor in wartime. Whatever might change, that won't.

There's a double standard in the core they expect you to take a beating from your seniors then not emulate that behaviour in personal relationships. You wanna really solve the problem quit letting toxic leaders use physical violence or the threat to use it for disobedience or talking back.

I can tell you that the Commands don’t want their dirt out in the open. They would even have Orders cut for the senior staff be it enlisted or officer out of the unit to cover it up or not get the responsible person demoted or discharged.
@iambitemetole2 күн бұрын
Why explain the charge prior to the outcome of a trial. Allegations are just that...allegations. What he is saying is he wants the person to be prejudiced based solely on allegations, when that should NEVER be the case.
