I've heard comments to the contrary. It is the Russian crude that needs sweet. Otherwise Perhaps Canadian tars sands may be a good alternative to Russian crude. No, there won´t be any peace negotiations and the Russians are not trying to get an advantageous position for it. Selensky wants "peace negotiations" which end in Moscow accepting the conditions for its capitulation. "Just peace" is Ukrainian diplomat speak for "Russian capitulation". The Russians on the other hand have will only accept peace negotiations that end with a Ukrainian capitulation - something that Moscow´s ambassadors to the UN publicly stated.

It's impossible for it to fail. Russia has a massive advantage in attrition there. So what i'm deducting from this is that this might have been just a massive recon in force and NATO has some further plans of pushing into Russia. The whole PR side of things for the past two years from the western side has been basically only aimed at keeping the morale up and attracting as many "volunteers" as possible over there. Because if they knew how it really is over there then no one would ever go there. Highest level of cognitive dissonance and madness already happening on the leadership level on the western side. They know they are fucked, yet they are still hoping for some miracles to happen.
