The problems of systemic corruption, and gross incompetence at every level has not been addressed. Moral & trust cannot be improved when no changes have been made at the top. New recruits will look for every opportunity to surrender, retreat or escape as they have nothing to hope for. Veteran soldiers with sufficient training, experience & expertise have all been squandered and are either dead or wounded so who is going to lead the new recruits in the field?

Russia doesn't need to deploy any new soldiers. Over the last year, more than 400.000 Russians joined the military and they are still receiving new volunteers every day. None of them have been send to fight in Ukraine up to now and are still in training. Beside that Russia still has ample reserves that they can deploy if necessary. Currently they have no need to do so and too many soldiers on the front line will only lead to higher casualties. The vast majority of the casualties are caused by artillery and air assaults, not by soldiers with a Kalashnikov in his trenches. Furthermore I seriously doubt that Ukraine can still find 400.000 new recruits. The men (or better children) in the category of 18-25 is not very big, a lot of them already left the country and none of them want to fight the Russians. They can of coarse force them to join the military but a good portion will defect at the first chance they get. I also doubt that their parents will fall for Zelensky's schemes, which could easily lead to an all out revolt of the Ukrainian population. Even if they succeed in doing so, it may very well have the opposite effect and significantly weaken the Ukrainian positions. If a good portion of the men defending a position refuse to fight, abandons their post or even surrender, the whole position becomes compromised and the one's left, willing to fight, will not stand a chance against the Russian onslaught. Leading to even more Ukrainian casualties and loss of territory. Than there is the training issue. Training of an infantry soldier is normally about a year and where is Ukraine going to train these kids. Even teaching them basic survival skills will take weeks if not months. Large concentrations of soldiers will not escape Russia's attention and they will be bombed merciless. The biggest problem for Ukraine will most probably be the NCO's. It takes years to train an NCO to a decent level and Ukraine doesn't have years. Not to speak of arming and supporting these new troops. Also their plans for a new offensive into Russian territory are fantastical. If they did so it would further deplete their positions on the current front lines. Even if they managed to cross the border and take some positions, they don't have any staying power and would eventually be driven back or annihilated, playing right in Russia's cards. According an article in "The Hill" published just before New Year, the Ukrainian intelligence services already informed the US in April of last year that Ukraine lost the war, would not be able to defeat or even hold back the Russians without direct participation of western troops. If Russia wants to take out Zelensky, he better starts writing his obituary or get the hell out of Ukraine, preferably far away from eastern Europe. Russia is well aware of his location and can take him out whenever they want. Even the bunker in which he was hiding at the start of the conflict will not be safe. It's all rhetoric and the spasms of a desperate and panicking government, which has little footing in realty.

Let's not forget that these speculations are based on the assumption THAT ALL 18-year olds will get mobilized. The fact is that 95%+ of the Ukrainians are proactively avoiding mobilization (in the current age of mobilization) simply because they: A) do not want to die B) do not want to fight the Russians as they are pro-Russians The 18-year olds would be even higher percentage as they haven't seen life and they don't want to die even more. Ukraine as a country is collapsing in front of our eyes.

Looking westward we can observe that the settlements that stand between Kurakhove and the Dnieper are lacking in urban density by comparison, and are therefore less defensible. Each settlement typically consists of a few kilometers of suburban sprawl, usually with a few commercial or industrial/agricultural buildings. Russian forces have shot down a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jet, according to a statement released by the Russian Defense Ministry on Sunday. The ministry also reported that Kiev’s forces have lost several Western-made armor pieces, including a Bradley fighting vehicle. “Seventeen counterattacks by the Ukrainian armed forces have been repelled. The enemy has lost more than 410 soldiers, two Leopard tanks manufactured in Germany, an infantry fighting vehicle, and three armored personnel carriers, including an M113 made in the United States” in Russia's Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), the statement read. Kiev has also been stripped of “a 105-mm L-119 cannon manufactured in Great Britain.” In the DPR, Ukraine lost a total of 230 service personnel during two counterattacks that were repelled by Moscow’s forces, the ministry said. - RT

Transnistria is a problem that is a month away. A lot can change in a month. A block of countries are involved: Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Serbia and Transnistria are very neutral. Romania and Moldova are lukewarm EU / NATO / USA. These two countries don't want to be drawn into a war with Russia. After Trump takes office, a team will be appointed to make a position paper on these seven countries. Once the USA position on these seven countries is known, then Russia can decide what should be done. E.G. put sanctions on the EU? make a deal with Romania to split Moldova down the middle?
