The 50 Caliber is a machine gun, not a cannon. Another thing, the 53E does not have night vision imaging systems, however, it is equipped for Night Vision Goggles.

CH 53k is more compact, essentially same HP but can fit in a C-17 transport. It has to be smaller to survive in the front line for the Marines. The Russian big transport helicopter is mostly for cargo transport in non contested area.

Personally I think the E looks cooler. It's what I grew up seeing flying around the local airbase next to the Blackhawks. The K is futuristic looking and still cool, but I prefer the E.

i worked on ch53d & e Models... i love the headaches they use to cause... it gave me a sense of purpose... in maintaining them... i wonder what it like to have a aircraft that has such a low maintenance requirement... it's gotta be boring... lol
