In this video I show a small modification I have done with the East German Army or NVA (Nationale Volkarmee) combat pack. When I have tried out this pack I have had a big problem with the shoulder straps coming unhooked when set up the way the NVA had recommended. Once fixed these are cheap well made packs that would work as Assault Packs. They would work great for inclusion in spare equipment for passing out to people in an emergency.

Guy's.... This is a 24 hour assault pack at best! These were meant for an army who's doctrine was based off of speed of advance. It's only going to hold a bare minimum of kit! These are easy to mod but very easy to over load. I've got one and I love it but I only keep a poncho, food, water, dry socks, and extra ammo in it. Anything else is on the chest rig.
