Just right with the kick-off of this year´s summer season, Milk & Sugar start promoting their new single „Canto Del Pilón" -- a world music influenced summer track that stands out for his own.
This new single is a cooperation with venezuelan singer María Marquéz, who is a great star in Spanish Speaking Middle- and South America since the late 60ies. „Canto Del Pilón" is a black workers song about the colonial history of South America.
Remixes are coming from Berlin mastermind Taan Newjam, Italy's very own Simone Vitullo, Déepalma honcho Yves Murasca and chillout legend Afterlife.

Estos Cantos de Pilón pertenecen a la cultura popular de Venezuela, y forman parte de la recopilación de versos de los cantos de faena o de trabajo que desde antaño ha utilizado nuestra gente para, a través de la música, aliviar lo laborioso y extenuante de un trabajo como ordeñar un animal para obtener leche, o pilar el maíz para preparar nuestras arepas, o lavar la ropa en los ríos, etc., etc. Dichos cantos de trabajo han quedado para la posteridad y ahora vemos con mucha satisfacción que esta rama de nuestra original cultura popular, se ha internacionalizado también, como lo apreciamos en este video con una de nuestras más conocidas piezas CANTOS DE PILON , y ya está tomando auge en el mundo como una expresión más de nuestra cultura, y por supuesto, adaptándose a las modificaciones y estilos que se le atribuyen y que este tipo de fenómeno lleva intrínseco, como es el caso por ejemplo, de nuestras melodías Caballo Viejo o Moliendo Café. En Venezuela tenemos dos excelentes grabaciones pioneras de esta pieza musical como son la del Quinteto Contrapunto y la de Soledad Bravo, grabadas, si no me falla la memoria, entre los años 60’s y 70’s.

La música original es de Venezuela, un ritmo folklórico de María Marquez, El pilón es un mortero de madera, generalmente, usado en la cocina tradicional para romper alimentos. El canto de Pilon nace de los trabajos que hacian las mujeres cuando pilaban (generalmente el maíz o el trigo) mientras pilaban se iban contando los chismes del pueblo cantando. Era muy común que lo trabajadores cantasen mientras trabajaban para hacer más ligera su carga. Sencillamente hermoso, ¡Viva mi Venezuela Bella!

Frankón nem értem mi köze Venezuelának Romániához? Mindegyik clipp alatt ez a perpatvarkodás megy. Ahelyett, hogy milyen klassz is ez a szám, milyen szuperul felturbózta a két német srác ezt a 85-ös számot. Mondjuk a Maria hangja ott is csúcs volt, de a szám különleges, egyedi hangulatát a M&S produkálja. Most ez a második kedvencem a Maitre Gims Zombie-ja után. Na ezt is, meg azt is méltatlanul kevesen nézik, bár ott azért jobb az arány. Minden esetre üdv minden magyarnak és nem magyarnak, akinek tetszik ez a szám.
