I don't know if you ever heard of it but I would suggest you to listen to "la suite bergamasque of Debussy", the third movement is well-known, but I also appreciate the first one, the prelude. Outstanding job Lydia!!! The filming and editing were amazing as well ~ creative overload!!! As per your request on similar and simpler ideas for this pattern, perhaps a crop top with "tank top" straps in plave of puffy sleeves, with a gathered bust, but straight along the bottom portion (like the fitted Aritzia tops) and an invisible zipper along the side instead of the back (especially for independence in zipping up lol) as well as to free up the back so there's an option to add elastic sections to make it stretchy along the back while still fitted... Hopefully whatever I just said makes sense??? Would be SO COOL with some high waisted jeans or jean shorts, and a nice belt! And a simplified introduction with a smaller workload to encourage those who have yet to make something as complex... as well as the ability to wear it as a casual every day piece, and with pants!!! Again, UH MAY ZING job Lydia! 😊❤👍

Hi Emily, the skirt is 20" from the waist, you may have to lengthen the bodice if you are 5'9. Here is the tutorial for making those modifications kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnnce5eZes6pd8k To lengthen the skirt, see the short demo at the end of this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYmne5prrpJ6b8k

Pls what type of boning did you use and is the boning comfortable? I have never wore a dress with boning so am very curious about how it is. And this is my first time sewing with boning. Pls is it better not to use boning or it is better to use boning? And which type of boning is the best and most comfortable? Am sorry I'm asking a lot of questions.
@LydiaNaomi3 жыл бұрын
I believe I used tripleflex plastic boning. Its comfortable enough for sure. I have heard that the best is spiral steel. You could also use rigiline which is also plastic, I have used that before as well.
@sihaschnitzelprinz29823 жыл бұрын

Hi Lydia, I downloaded this pdf pattern a month or so ago, and I'm now having a go at making it. I was just wondering - is the pattern piece called 'Front and Back Blouse Hem Ruffle' mislabelled and supposed to be the bias cut shoulder/top of sleeve piece? If not, how long and wide does the bias cut strip need to be? You don't seem to mention it in the video or anywhere in the information that comes with the pattern.
@LydiaNaomi3 жыл бұрын
Hello :) The hem ruffle is for the blouse version. See kzbin.info/www/bejne/joW8n5WQprClZsU The updated dress instructions is here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYmne5prrpJ6b8k I didn't include the bias strip. But you can cut a strip 1 1/4" thick and make the length just longer than were your sleeve lines up with the edge of your bodice armhole.
