Video created from thousands of photos of the Milky Way taken from different locations in Brazil. One of the locations is a class 4 region ( Bortle 4), but almost on the border with a bortle class 3 region. The photos taken on the beach were taken in a class 5 region (bortle 5). All the photos were edited in adobe lightroom, and the photos taken in the class 5 region needed more editing so that the milky way could be seen more clearly. Music created by Luz Calor Som.
Photos taken with Nikon D5600 and Sigma lens. Sigma 17 50mm f 2.8

That looks more like bortle 3 because I live in bortle 4 and it is no where near as good

Some of these photos were taken very near from a bortle 3 area. And you have to consider that the camera and lenses can capture, in long exposure photos, more light than our eyes. And all photos were at least a little bit edited to enhance milky way.

*i am quite envious (in a healthy way man ofc) towards you all in the south you have much better skies and galatic objects to shoot. more exposure to milky way all year round and of course , the LMC and the SMC quite easier to shoot with mags 2.5 ,,, we have andromeda not very easy here as its a mag 4.... loved the work just try getting resoultion and the frame rate right

Hello Madhav :) First, thank you for your comment. Here in the south, the "bad" thing is that there are no public parks in conditions to receive people to see the sky and to take photos. Few people in Brazil like to do this kind of things. In other countries there are a lot of places ready for people who like astrophotography. But yes, the milky way is visible ( in the places with low light pollution ) at least for 9 months of the year.

When you were recording, were you able to see it like that in real life..?

Hello friend. All the details and colors are only possible to see because of the long exposure photos. Like 10, 15 or 30 seconds capturing the light before finishing the photo. In "real life" you can see the shape of the milky way with less details and less colors, and you do not see so many stars. And that only if you are at least in a bortle 4 area. In bortle 5 or 6, only the camera can "see", and then you have to edit the photo a lot to get a good result. If you want to see the milky way with a lot of details, you should look for at least a bortle 4, or if you can bortle 3..and if you are lucky and can go to a bortle 2 or bortle 1 area, you will see a magic sky. But not with all the details you see in long exposure photos

Many of these photos were taken in a sky region almost as good as bortle 3. Others were in bortle five. And you have to consider that the camera and lenses can capture, in long exposure photos, more light than our eyes. And all photos were at least a little bit edited to enhance milky way.

I tried (in Bortle 5) to take a long exposure of the sky, perfect time, but I only got stars, a lot actually, but I couldn't see the milky way, even with enhanced contrast

@@Vulturetanki You have to see how much time you put in the shutter speed, how much iso, and if the focus was good. But sometimes the bortle class don t say much. For example if you are in a bortle five, but the milky way is a part of the sky that is full of light pollution, next to some source of artificial light, it can be a problem. There are a lot of things that can happen, it is difficult for me to say. But if you find a bortle 4 or 3, it will be easier to see the milky way in the photos, even without editing. You can try a software called sequator, it is amazing :) You can send the photos, so i can see what can be wrong, if you want ok ?

@@diamondsofameaningfullife Thanks, in my case I was using a Fujifilm X-T4 with my 18-55mm f2.8-4.0 at 18mm, 15 seconds of shutter and ISO was 12800 (It was too bright, so I lowered it at 3200 and it was good enought for the sky to not be too white). I was in a very dark place, but probably the sky was polluted by nearby cities.
