I know a lot of people like to think that Garfield is a tabaxi but I personally have head-cannoned him as a rakshasa. In the monster manuals description of rakshasas it says they sometimes masquerade as rich merchants, plus then he would definitely have easy access to a fiendish patron. Also why else would he all the equipment to grow humanoid flesh because it certainly wasn’t out of the kindness of his heart.

Nothing is “wrong“ when you’re reading or listening to a story. That’s one of the advantages those mediums have over visual storytelling. The reader/listener gets to imagine characters, places, etc the way they want to an extent. When I was a kid and saw the Harry Potter movies it actually kinda bummed me out later because I realized I had forgotten some of the ways I had imagined characters looking that differed from the movie and now when I read it, I only picture the movie versions of them
