An amazing layout, about an hour from me! One of the better hobby train track systems in the US. So much has been built by the owner and volunteers, how is the continuing of this layout guaranteed for train owners and volunteers, when the present owner passes?

I assure you, you have no idea how wrong you are. I personally own one that was hand built by my father in the late 80's and he was nothing more than a blue collar worker, non union to boot. Yes, you have to have money saved up, but it's mainly a tool & die hobby. Most if not a great majority of us in this hobby, are self taught builders. Only a small few go out and have them built by a third party. Not all of the steam locomotives are fire breathing dragons, as described by the gentleman on camera. As you saw with the one he sat behind the tender on, it's an electric powered loco....most likely the batteries and air compressor for brakes were in the tender, and motor source were in the hollowed out boiler....hence no smoke. And, with a little bit of electronics knowledge/background, you can actually fit them with a sound system from Tsunami or Loksound with just a larger amplifier. Despite, what many may think, this hobby can be done on a budget.

And then there's me who is trying to build a 15 inch gauge shay/railroad out of garbage to service my 1888 frick size 0 circlemill I bought for nothing because it needs parts too you don't have to be rich you have to have the will to want it, and be willing to do tons of work/learning also talked to the owner of this facility during the buckeye limited most of this stuff was donated or bought at low prices
