We had a mill that automatically reversed when an emergency bar was hit. Best method ever. Another place one mill when the emergency bar was touched it would roll on for another ten seconds. Yep, it wrecked a blokes hand complaining. This mill dated back to 1910.

If you end up going for a trip around the mill bowls, best phone a funeral director. Don't forget some spillsorb for the poor buggers guts

Is the standard to immediately extract the individual? It might not be the best option to open the mill until first responders are there and ready to treat/transport. Otherwise you are relieving the pressure that is stopping the individual from bleeding out.

The mil shoud be backward when hand is traped ..I work same and belly bar is the best safety ..i am working 10 year with milling rubber..never ever happened any incident in my Company...But we should be carefull bcz risky work at all.

No you should never run the mill backwards when hand is caught it can and will send a blood clot to your heart and kill you your supposed to drop the caps and pry mill open then take person out I've been doing this for a very long time

we got the emergency cable at are place
