16:10 - there is a lot to be said for keeping the focus on strategy in a strategy game, and leaving tactics to tactics games. Some do interleave them to good effect, but they are nevertheless markedly different fields of study and focus in reality.

Though Raiders are very strong as a first pick, I feel like many people undervalue the seafaring one. It gives you 6 food per tuna tile, making it more tile-efficient than farms + mills, and the best part is by using boats you don't need any workers or buildings for it. Imagine spawning a unit for ~10 exploration XP that generates 6 food each turn. You have all this workforce and space to get your industry going instead. Combine that with the improved docks that give production, wealth, AND exploration XP, and you have a self-feeding beast. You'll swim in production, improvement, and workers. You can make your integrated vassals catch up and be as strong as your capital in no-time, and churn out newly unlocked buildings in just 2 turns by age 3. I completed the national spirit by turn 20. Of course, you're dependent on a spawn near water, but if you do, I can strongly recommend it. It's a lot of fun.

I know these are pre-recorded from earlier Twitch sessions, but I can't help but wonder if Quill would wanna go for Age of The Old Ones. It's a second Crisis Age for Age 7 (instead of the historical Age of Revolution), and yes, it's exactly what it sounds like.

I just spoiled myself by looking that up on the wiki, and - that is _hilarious;_ I'd overlooked this game as a sort of vanilla civ-alike, but looking at some of these ages... definitely not as vanilla as I'd assumed.

The Brutality damage boost is not against siege engines, it's against siege targets, like walls.

Personally my favourite early game pick is the Hunters rather than Raiders since they get eureka effect that makes all camps generate culture and bones generate improvement points so you snowball like crazy - if I need units I usually prefer the Spartans - but then again I try to avoid just steamrolling the AI with floods of early game troops

The worst thing about age of plague if one of the AI spawns it 20 turn before you are ready, and then kill your only plague doctor. After 20 turns where you can do nothing to control the plague, your kingdom is so broken estimated time is 50 turns to unlock your plague doctor.

Wait, WHAT?! For the Kingdom and not the Empire, they are using inspiration, references, and imagery from something literally called "Persian EMPIRE"? :))) Well that seems ridiculous!

It's actually a little slow for Raiders . Quill seams to have forgotten he can use his warfare exp to use forced march to have his armies move and attack multiple times in a turn.
