I struggled, and still am struggling, with depression and anxiety. My father first told me that he would be supportive of me, when I told him that I will be going to see a psychiatrist for it, to take medicine. Only to have him to say "I really don't get why you have depression, your life is so happy." My mother, would only care about me, like reminding me to eat food that might help me with my depression, when she is in the mood. She can say extremely nasty words to me when she is in a bad mood. My brother doesn't believe in depression. In his own words, he will beat you down with words, and the way he acts towards you, to tell you to 'grow up'. And only after he stops, and you realize how good life was without him beating down on you. I have friends online that I talk to, but due to work and always being tired from work, its hard to talk and take time off to be with friends. Work was the catalyst of my anxiety, I switched jobs, it got worse. I took time off, and I'm in my current job now, and it was only then I realized. Leaving it alone made it worse. I stopped experiencing depressive and anxiety induced episodes so I had thought I had recovered back when I first took time off. Now I'm back to seeing a psychiatrist and taking my medication. But every time I get home from work, I would just feel so mentally exhausted... I don't know what to do, there doesn't seem to be a goal in sight for me, yet. But I am now, on my way to recovery. My friends will always be there for me. I am trying to take lead and make changes that would improve my life. I hope anyone that reads this well. If you are also struggling with your mental health, I hope you get better soon! And remember! *It's normal to paint your room white* *Even if you're in the middle of the night* *You may be in a bad plight* *But don't lose sight of your light* - Fish

Fish is right the working culture make people depress , day in and out have to work 5 days and some 6 days and as if the only purpose alive is to work and pay bills and crush by the harsh realities of life, and it doesn’t help with everything increasing

Hello Zhin and Ranae, you’re both doing well and really courageous to be open, helping others like myself who are still a work in progress, trying to manage our depression. Both of you are strong and always loved by many, far and near. You’ll get better and you will be. Thank you Zhin and Renae, onwards to a better mental health. Both of you have given so much, and more than you think, inspiring others along the way.

Both interviewees speak really well, and the gentleman is extremely articulate. The lady comes across as authentic and carries a good head on her shoulders despite having battled this in the past.

you are not alone. we all have our stories. and this song will always come to mind when I read about these yet i can't do anything. all those stories about Kids who chose to take their light out becos of studies / exams and everything else. for all those that you feel that their light is about to go out please make an effort to try and do something till all is lost. One More Light - LP Should've stayed, were there signs, I ignored? Can I help you, not to hurt, anymore? We saw brilliance, when the world, was asleep There are things that we can have, but can't keep If they say Who cares if one more light goes out? In a sky of a million stars It flickers, flickers Who cares when someone's time runs out? If a moment is all we are We're quicker, quicker Who cares if one more light goes out? Well I do The reminders pull the floor from your feet In the kitchen, one more chair than you need oh And you're angry, and you should be, it's not fair Just 'cause you can't see it, doesn't mean it, isn't there If they say Who cares if one more light goes out? In a sky of a million stars It flickers, flickers Who cares when someone's time runs out? If a moment is all we are We're quicker, quicker Who cares if one more light goes out? Well I do Who cares if one more light goes out? In a sky of a million stars It flickers, flickers Who cares when someone's time runs out? If a moment is all we are We're quicker, quicker Who cares if one more light goes out? Well I do Well I do

Depression is a silent killer, Humans evolved to only sense danger through external sights. Internally we were not made to detect dangers. The Mix-Messaging of speaking up about depression in the end will silence a ton of suffers because all they want it for this sense of hurt to go away, but instinctly they also have no motivation to work on getting rid of depression because they think its a "me" problem. More talk on mental health will sure open the discussion and improve the numbers of help seekers but overall, if we really want to deal with this huge issue. Its not going to take a Societal change...Its gonna take a humanitarian change. In order to really see the changes to mental health, we as individuals really need to see how every action we do can affect someone lives. But because the change will only impact when its done on a massive skill, small minor actions by people will seem useless to the naked eye. But trust me, if half of the kids in secondary school right now stop bullying their peers. There will be a significant change 20 years down the road.

I'm past the point where I deign to call it depression anymore. I never had the help I needed when I was growing up. And even after it boiled over, I was made to feel like I was just being lazy. I no longer bother asking for help because I'm scared that they'll end up saying there's nothing wrong with me, in which case I really am a failure and had no right asking for help in the first place.

I honestly want to give you both a hug 🥹. I was diagnosed with mental health as a teen 🫥😵‍💫, I wanted to just disappear from the world, things got worse over some years, especially after the death of my sister, and eventually I got help after bottling things up. Glad to say that now at 30, I have an ambition for a new career path, which starts with my new job offer from our National Health Service in England ☺️☺️
