1:00 That's one of the universal features of all computers, good defense. Hans Berliner said computers defend like iron. And I think you're correct about how their ratings are often deflated and they are better than their ratings. A Saitek GK2100 from 1994 could win probably most human state championships in the US, but its rating is estimated in the 2100s, and it requires a master level rating to win a state championship. Not sure of the reason for that, perhaps the number games that are used to evaluate strength are not sufficient in quantity. Btw, have you seen Nova's documentary on the 1989 match between Kasparov and Deep Thought? So after playing with these e boards, do you have a sense for which is best in terms of feel, glitchiness, overall quality?

I would say the Millennium and the Chessnit AIr have th ebest piece recognition. All the boards have a good quailty, even the SoP. The SoP seems to have the least desirable user expereince base the app not have a lot of features, and it presents some piece recognition issues, but still overall its a decent board than can be fun. Hope this helps! As far as the best board , its hard to say, but I am going to work on a spreadsheet that maybe will help you answer that question! Cheers!
