Lore: Thatcher, wanting to end the Alternates' reign, somehow created a time machine and went back in time. He recruited the shepherds. Back in the present with them, Thatcher used the holy power of Jesus Christ to bring Mark Heathcliff back to life. Then when Dave Lee met Gabriel, Thatcher, Mark, and the shepherds were next to him. And that's how the final battle begun.

At first i was put off by Gabriel's vocals being like that, but honestly now it seems to me that they're like that because he wants to mess with all of them by keeping his "angelic" appearance. All in all, perfect cover for an awesome song! Ps: my personal headcanon is that Gabriel forced everyone's souls to remain fighting a losing battle for eternity as a way to entertain himself, but what he didn't expect was for the humans to team up

I'll be editing this with my idea of what happened in this song. Thatcher spent most of his time nowadays morning Ruth. His anguish fueled the monster outside his door. However, just before he considered the impossible, a new voice rang out. Warm, reassuring, unlike the horrid voice of that creature. "My son, I've seen your struggles. Your desperate pleas have not fallen on deaf ears. Rise, and close your eyes". Thatcher does as he is told, and when he opens his eyes again, he was in a horribly alien biome, sand and chilling air greeting him under a black night sky and its millions of stars. Thatcher looked around and soon saw others. Two men dresses in robes, each holding a wooden staff, and each sporting a large white beard. As he approached, the sky suddenly turned gray. The gentle breeze stopped cold turkey, and a new being appeared. Its beauty was indescribable beyond incredible and gorgeous. However, when it spoke, it spoke with a major undertone of malice. "I am your true savior," it told the men. As Thatcher stood there, staring at the being, he had a sudden loss of control. His hands, against his will, reached for his pistol and pulled the trigger twice, aimed right at the angel. The Angel recoiled in shock, but obviously remained unharmed. It vanished as quickly as it arrived. A new voice spoke through Thatcher, saying to the shepherds: "You have both been tempted. You have both been saved. Stay here, for I shall return for you". With that, in another collapse, Thatcher reawoke, but when he realized where he was, he began to wish he'd stayed unconscious: a static filled television in one corner, an occupied bed with seven casings lining it, a bible and notebook atop the television, and a single figure on the bed. The figure snapped up when it saw Thatcher and raised its pistol, ready to fire. As his eyes adjusted fully to the dark, Thatcher could make out a hoodie, brown hair, and sunken eyes that displayed only terror and confusion. "W-What the fuck?!" the broken voice of Mark Heathcliff called out. "Hey, hey. Relax. I'm not going to hurt you," Thatcher began to say before suddenly feeling that relaxant. Still pleasant, but odd. "Please, my child, rest. I come with great news. You will aid in the destruction of the invading creatures. Redemption awaits, my son". Thatcher's arms extended in a gesture symbolizing a hug. Mark, tears streaming down his face, sprints into Thatcher's embrace, weeping and laughing. "Mark? What's going on, buddy?~" a young male voice called out from beyond Mark's wooden door. "Wow. I never thought you'd be this happy to see me!" The voice spoke through Thatcher once more: "The creatures seek to deceive you. Take my hand, and you will be saved". As Thatcher looked on, Mark reached out to his hand without hesitation, and the pair reappeared somewhere else, somewhere familiar. A store, empty shelves, posters advertising a massive sale, and boxes of VHS tapes piled up in a corner. A man with sunglasses and a mustache stood behind a desk, seemingly on the phone. He turned to look at Mark and Thatcher, and in shock he nearly dropped his phone. The voice spoke again, "David. You've made grave errors, but you can still repent. Kneel, and you will earn redemption". Dave, suddenly realizing what the voice meant, fell to his knees holding his face, trying to fight the stream of tears. Thatcher regained control as he approached his friend and partner, ensuring that he was alright. After a moment, Dave picked up his phone which he'd dropped in shock. "Hey O'Brien. Think it's about time that I take you up on your offer". And with that, the team vanished from the store, now appearing in a realm of impossible cold and heat. In the distance of this blackened realm, a faint white light glowed. The group of shepherds, teenager, shop owner, and disheveled police officer approached the light, and when they finally reached the source, the light was revealed to be an aura. The Angel floated silently in the air, but acknowledged their presence with a cold and cruel glance. "Hmm...no human has survived this long in my presence. Why are you all special?" The voice spoke again, "Because they are under my protection, Lucifer". Lucifer regarded Thatcher and the voice with careless rage, shouting, "Oh please! You come to my realm with the intent of destroying me with two old men, a scared teenager, a foolish shop owner, and a broken man?! You could have used heaven's army, Shepherd". With that, the crew silently engaged the Devil. As they did, the realm shifted. Its vantablack color suddenly shifted to a dark gray, and with it came the eyes. Some were the size of buildings, some the size of water droplets. All of them looked at the angel, then at the small group, malice emanating from their being. The shepherds were the first to fall. The Angel struck them down with just its words. Mark, desperate to give the others more time to rest, screamed at the angel, calling its attention. This was in vain, and as Mark fell to the ground, he aimed his pistol at his head and fired. Dave fell next, and the realm suddenly released an ear splitting drone, akin to that of a tornado's interior. As Dave fell, his eyes and ears suddenly started pouring blood. Thatcher began to feel himself rise. Before the Devil could say a word, the demons around him began to fall, cut in half by enormous flaming swords. Lucifer looked upon Thatcher with horror, but mercy was far past gone. With a snap of his fingers, Lucifer faced judgement, deemed to suffer for eternity in hell, with Uriel watching to ensure the torment of the fallen angel. As the others returned, Ruth and Cesar were in the store, seemingly as confused as the others were, but extremely happy. Ruth and Thatcher embraced, tears of utter joy rolling down their faces. Cesar and Mark hugged and apologized deeply for everything they'd done wrong. Dave stood alone, lacking anyone to embrace, or to even talk to. After a moment of consideration, Ruth and Thatcher nod to Dave, encouraging him to join them. Finally. The darkness has receded.
