The real issues here is that if USA wants to stop illegal immigration/drugs they have to stop them at their border Canada or Mexico should not be policemen for USA border for free, if USA is willing to pay for its border security then maybe Canada/Mexico can hire more staff to protect our border and ensure no illegal guns are entering Canada. (most of fentanyl and other drugs are manufactured in usa kitchens, they do not come from China ir Mexico or Canada as they like to claim, but this is another story). If usa impose 25% tariff Canada and Mexico can inpose more tariff say 35% on USA goods enering Canada or Mexico, plus canada and Mexico can increase their import/export... and team up to explore other markets. It is time that Canada grow up and start diversifying it's economic partners...yes USA is closer and convenient but it should never be the only one. USA imposed harsh tariff on Chinese ev cars and Canada followed...why Canada did not aligned with UK and EU? Why follow USA if you're going to get hit with tariff anyway? And finally, Trump said he will build a wall and make Mexico pays for it did he built one? Did Mexico paid for it? So Canadians calme down, you have so many way to leverage here ... threaten to remove 100% taxes on Chinese EV, threaten to leave NATO, threaten to join BRICS, ...and implement 30-35% tariff on all USA good. Canada should follow Switzerland rules ...and never be aligned with few nations...canada should have friends and economic partners all-over the world...and fund its military and have alliance with other powerful nations....this way when a crazy is elected in USA Canadians Premiers will not freak out as they do now.

If you follow the news you may be well informed that while some immigrants cross to the USA others do cross the border to get into Canada. Moreover, check how other nations manage their borders...for Turkey to stop illegal immigration into EU, EU pays billions to Turkey to do their job and Canada should do the same. The other points is fentanyl is manufactured in underground labs in USA but it is easy to blame it on China becz that makes old thugs feel happy

Pierre stood there giving a speech saying how Canada has an aging population, and a demographic problem, and that we need immigrants to come work in our factories, and drive truck etc and goes on to say "stop the deportations" Hell Pierre's wife is an immigrant from Venezuela.

As someone else said. There's a gag order. By Pierre getting his clearance there's a non disclosure agreement that he has to sign in order to be allowed to look at the documents. However in doing so he will never be allowed to talk about what he saw in the documents, and if he does than he can be sentenced to prison for 14 years. Meaning Pierre could get his clearance, the documents could incriminate trudeau/liberal party, but now Pierre is never allowed to talk about it allowing trudeau/liberals to get away with it
